Truth is... that this is all my fault. I accidentally brought those dangerous people here. And if those people are watching... just know that I really did try to help you. I mean, I could've killed you... at any given moment, but I didn't. Because my Aunt May taught me that everyone deserves a second chance.
―Peter Parker[src]

Spider-Man (real name Peter Benjamin Parker) is a superhero from Marvel Comics and one of Marvel's most well-known superheroes. Spider-Man has appeared in countless media since his debut in 1962's Amazing Fantasy #15. Peter Parker was an unpopular high school student who was bitten by a genetically altered radioactive spider that granted him spider-like superpowers. However, due to the death of his uncle Ben Parker or his aunt May Parker, Peter vowed to use his powers responsibly and for good, becoming the superhero known as Spider-Man.

He is one of the later heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, first appearing in Captain America: Civil War. He is the titular protagonist of the Spider-Man films.

Spider-Man partook in a war, a year after turning down a spot on the Avengers. The war was between the Avengers and Thanos, along with his army. Peter was one of the victims of Thanos' finger snap, which erased half of the universe's population, before being brought back to life five years later. Months after Iron Man's death, Spider-Man got roped into a fight against a supervillain named Mysterio, whom Peter thought was an ally, which resulted in Spider-Man's secret identity being exposed to the world, after forming a relationship with Michelle Jones-Watson.

In late 2024, Peter accidentally caused a multiversal crisis by asking Doctor Strange to use a spell that would make everyone forget that Peter Parker was Spider-Man. However, Peter botched the spell and caused people from other universes, who knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man in their worlds, to arrive in earth-616. After the death of his Aunt May, Peter started to take a dark turn and tried to kill the Goblin as revenge for killing his aunt, before being stopped by his alternate counterparts. Spider-Man eventually decided to have the world forget who Peter Parker was by having Strange cast a new spell, even if it meant losing those closest to him. Spider-Man then continued his life as a superhero, solo.

Spider-Man was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

Peter's physical appearance varies between adaptations, but in most cases, he is a Caucasian teenage boy with a slim, yet muscular physical build, due to the radioactive spider bite.

His superhero suit's primary colors are red and blue, with a silhouette of a spider on the chest and the back. The red has a pattern that resembles that of a spider web, with the center of the web being on the topside of his nose. The red and webs only go to the shoulders on the costume. The eyes on the mask are white one-way lenses with a bold black outline.

This incarnation of Peter Parker is usually shown to be extremely intelligent, just like his older variants as he is able to make web-fluid in science class and is able to be the top of the class while also being in the debate club and answer questions very fast. As himself, Peter is shown to be very quiet at times as shown when he doesn't really do anything when Flash Thompson insults him. Peter is very caring for those who mean a lot to him, like Aunt May, his best friend Ned Leeds and girlfriend Michelle Jones-Watson. He also tries to see the best in people, whether he is Peter or Spider-Man. Peter is very caring for those around him and their safety as shown when MJ is bombarded by crowds. Instead of thinking about himself, Spider-Man instantly goes to MJ to see if she is okay and asks the crowd not to touch her as he is protective and doesn't want her to be hurt. Another instance of this is after MJ falls off of the Statue of Liberty, Peter doesn't hesitate to save her and although he doesn't, she is saved. Peter's immediate thought is to check if she and Ned are both okay, even if it means he himself, is in a bad state from the fight.

When he dons the Spider-Man costume, Peter acts a lot more confident as he is acting as someone else and no one knows about his true identity for the majority of his life. As both Peter Parker and Spider-Man, he is shown to not always think things through all the way, even going against Tony Stark's wishes or even Happy Hogan's, when they don't want him to do something. However, Peter is always there to throw himself in when he knows help is needed or there is a huge threat in New York City. He never wants to back out of a fight when he knows his allies might be in danger.

That being said, Peter can sometimes be quite gullible as he can easily believe what people like Mysterio says to him and he can easily trust people, who are deceiving him, like Mysterio. Although, through his spider-senses, he can detect when some form of danger is approaching although he won't always notice until he figures out what is going on.

However, as Peter gets older, he does find it easier to deal with difficult issues in life, especially when his identity is revealed to the entire world and just wants to live a normal life as much as he can, which is proven to be a huge challenge when he is framed for the attacks in London.

Peter/Spider-Man is shown to be a very positive person and tries to see the best in everyone, wanting to always help those who need it, especially if it is just the small things in life. Although, after the death of his aunt at the hands of the Green Goblin, Peter's personality descends into darkness as he vows to kill the man responsible for the death of the only family member he had left. As Peter grows dark and thirst with vengeance, he tries to actively kill the Goblin all by himself until he is stopped by one of his alternate selves who has been down a similar dark path as him. Although this is only temporary, it shows that Peter will stop at nothing to get what he is aiming for if he puts his mind to it, even though he could be in a very dark place in his life.

A young Peter Parker in "Iron Man 2"

A young Peter appears in the film as a cameo, being this his first appearance since Disney bought Marvel. Although never mentioned by name, Tom Holland has confirmed that the child present at the Stark Expo when the Hammer Drones attacked the convention is Peter.[4] During the attack, Peter, wearing an Iron Man replica mask and gauntlets, is confronted by one of the drones but he stands his ground. Before the drone attacks him, it is blasted down by Iron Man who thanks Peter for his "assist" in the fight.

I've been me my whole life, and I've had these powers for 6 months. I read books, I build computers... and yeah, I would love to play football, but I couldn't then so I shouldn't now.
―Peter explaining the origins of Spider-Man to Tony Stark[src]

Spider-Man appears as a teenager who recently-acquired his powers roughly six months before the events of this film. Like prior incarnations, Peter lost his uncle Ben shortly after gaining his powers, which motivated him to use his powers responsibly. Donning a makeshift costume, Peter became a local superhero known as "Spider-Man" to help those in need, though he kept his double-life a secret from his Aunt May.

Spider-Man Civil War

Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War.

When Peter first appears in the film, he is greeted by Tony Stark at his apartment under the guise of offering the young genius an internship. Due to a background check and research, Tony reveals that he had figured out Peter's secret identity. With this information, Tony enlists Peter to help him take Captain America into custody; Peter complies on the condition that Tony not tell Aunt May about his secret identity. Afterwards, Tony provides Peter with a superhero suit of his own.

In Leipzig, Germany, Spider-Man assembles with Iron Man, Black Widow, War Machine, Vision, and Black Panther to catch up with Captain America, but discover that the Captain has also assembled a team: the Winter Soldier, Falcon, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, and Scarlet Witch. However, Peter is more excited at the chance to be in the company of the Avengers than anything else, let alone have a chance to be one himself.

The two factions of heroes realize that neither side will give in, and are forced to fight one another. Spider-Man is able to hold his own against Falcon and the Winter Soldier, all while babbling excitedly about their abilities and gear, in particular the Winter Soldier's metal arm and Falcon's wings. Later in the fight he goes up against Captain America himself. The inexperienced Peter proves no match for Captain America, but he is impressed by the young hero. He comments that Spider-Man has a good heart, and smiles when he learns that they are both from New York - in Spider-Man's case, Queens, and for the Captain, Brooklyn.

Peter later helps to turn the tide of the fight in favor of Iron Man's side after Ant-Man turns himself into Giant-Man and gives them a run for their money. In a maneuver inspired by "that really old movie The Empire Strikes Back", Spider-Man spins his webs around Giant-Man's legs while Iron Man and War Machine fly over and knock him down. While Peter's plan succeeds, he is accidentally backhanded and sent into some crates by Giant-Man in the process. Iron Man sends him home soon after he threatens to call Aunt May if he doesn't listen to him.

Upon returning home, May asks her nephew how he got his bruises. Peter opts for a half-truth, telling her he was in a fight against "Steve from Brooklyn and his huge friend." Once May exits, Peter plays around with his upgraded web shooters, discovering an interesting feature: a Spider-Signal.

This is my chance to prove myself.

Spider-Man Homecoming 14

Before sending Peter back home, shortly after the battle in Germany, Tony tells Peter that the Spider-Man suit is his to keep, following the events of Civil War, but cautions the teenager not to go looking for trouble. He advises Peter to keep himself safe and tells him that should the Avengers need him again, Tony will call him. With that, Peter returns to his life with his aunt in Queens as a student at Midtown School of Science and Technology.

Two months later, Peter spends every afternoon patrolling his neighborhood as Spider-Man, but seldom finds any crimes to stop. This interferes with his student and personal life and using the cover of having an internship at Stark Industries, quits many of his extra-curricular activities, such as band and academic decathlon. One night, Spider-Man spots a group of ATM robbers armed with high-tech weapons. Spider-Man defeats the criminals, but when he tries to tell Tony about his discovery, he learns that the Avengers are preoccupied with moving into their new headquarters. Peter returns home, where his secret identity is discovered by his closest friend, Ned Leeds.

Spider-Man Homecoming - Peter Parker

An unmasked Spider-Man in "Homecoming".

The following night, Ned and Peter are invited to a party hosted by Peter's crush, a senior named Liz Toomes. However, Peter leaves early after spotting a strange explosion nearby. The explosion was caused by Montana, a member of an underground arms dealership that scavenges and sells high-tech gear and weapons to criminals. Peter listens in on Brice trying to sell an arm from an Ultron Sentry to Aaron Davis, but Spider-Man is discovered and the criminals escape. Spider-Man gives chase, but the men get away and Spider-Man encounters the gang's leader, Vulture, who nearly drowns him. Luckily, Peter is rescued by Iron Man, who warns the younger hero to stay out of this.

Hoping to prove himself, Peter doesn't listen to his mentor. He pockets a power source from one of the weapons and plants a tracker on another member of Vulture's crew, Shocker. Discovering that the crew is going to Maryland, Peter rejoins the academic decathlon team for the finals in Washington, DC. With help from Ned, Peter disables the tracker in his suit and the "Training Wheels Protocol", opening up all of the suit's capabilities. Peter is overwhelmed by all of the features and again is bested by the villains. He spends the night locked in the Damage Control vault, causing him to miss the decathlon and learn that the power orb he gave to Ned is explosive. By the time he can warn Ned, it's too late - the device has detonated, leaving Ned, Liz, and several other students trapped in a damaged elevator. With help from his suit's AI, Karen, Spider-Man saves the day.

Upon returning to New York, he tracks down and interrogates Aaron Davis. Davis tells the hero that he doesn't trust Vulture either and wants to protect his family, in particular his young nephew. He reveals that the Vulture intends to sell several crates of technology on the Staten Island Ferry. Spider-Man finds Vulture in his civilian identity of Adrian Toomes about to sell the scavenged weapons to the criminal Mac Gargan. Spider-Man captures Gargan, but Toomes escapes and the weapons malfunction, destroying the boat. Spider-Man struggles to use his webs to keep the ferry together, but to no avail. At the last minute, the ferry and everyone on it is rescued by Iron Man.

Angry, Tony confronts Peter for disobeying him and endangering hundreds of lives, and orders Peter to return the Spider-Man suit. Peter abandons his heroic persona and returns to his life as Peter Parker. Slowly, Peter's life returns to normal, and he even works up the courage to ask Liz to the school's Homecoming Dance. However, the night of the dance, Peter learns that Adrian Toomes is Liz's father, who in turn deduces that Peter and the Wall-Crawler are one and the same. Toomes is grateful to Peter for saving Liz in DC, but threatens to kill Peter if he ditches the dance to interfere with his plans. Peter realizes that Toomes plans to intercept a Damage Control plane en route to the Avengers' new headquarters. Peter abandons Liz and puts on his homemade Spider-Man suit to stop Vulture.

With help from Ned, Spider-Man tracks down the Vulture. Toomes tries to get Peter to see the issue from his point of view - he's just a man whose life was ruined by the wealthy elites trying to make ends meet for his wife and daughter. Peter remains adamant, and Vulture buries him alive in a collapsed building. Spider-Man gathers the strength to break free and confront the Vulture on the plane. The fight damages the engines, causing the plane to crash onto Coney Island. Peter realizes that the power core of Vulture's suit is also explosive and saves the man with his webbing, leaving a note for the cops.

After Vulture's arrest, a heartbroken Liz and her mother move away. Peter's friend Michelle Jones replaces her as captain of the academic decathlon team, and Peter is summoned to the new Avengers Compound by Tony Stark. Tony offers Peter a place on the Avengers, but Peter humbly turns him down, intending to remain at street level for the time being. When Peter arrives back in his room, he finds that Tony has returned the Spider-Man suit. Excited, Peter suits up as Spider-Man, just in time for Aunt May to walk in, shocked.

You can't be a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man if there's no neighbourhood.

Infinity-War-16

Spider-Man dons the Iron Spider suit.

Spider-Man returns in Avengers: Infinity War. While on a school bus en route to MoMA, Parker notices an alien warship hovering over New York, and heads toward the conflict to assist Stark in battling Cull Obsidian, a henchman of Thanos' Black Order. Meanwhile, Stephen Strange is defeated and captured by Black Order member Ebony Maw, and Stark tasks Parker with rescuing Strange. In his attempts to rescue Strange, Parker is pulled onto the fuselage of the warship as it ascends into space. Before Peter can suffocate from the lack of oxygen, Stark summons the Iron Spider Armor, which locates and attaches itself to Parker. Parker boards the ship and assists Stark in locating Strange. The two locate Strange as he is tortured by Maw in an attempt to acquire the Infinity Stone in Strange's possession, the Eye of Agamotto - the Time Stone. At Parker's suggestion, he and Stark utilize a plan inspired by the film Aliens in order to rescue Strange, by distracting Maw and blasting a hole into the side of the ship. Maw is sucked out into the vacuum of space and subsequently killed. Stark and Strange debate how to defeat Thanos, and Stark officially recruits Parker into the Avengers.

The three then pilot the ship to Thanos' homeworld of Titan, where they crash-land and are attacked by several of the Guardians of the Galaxy. A standoff ensues, with Parker held at gunpoint by Peter Quill and Drax the Destroyer held by Stark. The conflict is soon resolved as Stark realizes Quill is from Earth, and all parties are in pursuit of Thanos. As the Avengers and Guardians deduce how to defeat Thanos, Strange meditates and concludes that, out of over a million possible realities, there is only one possible future in which they defeat Thanos. Soon after, Thanos himself arrives, and the heroes engage him in battle. They manage to subdue Thanos and nearly succeed in removing Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet. However, whilst in his dazed state, Thanos reveals that, in exchange for the Soul Stone, he had reluctantly sacrificed his daughter Gamora, Quill's lover and fellow Guardian. Enraged, Quill attempts to shoot and kill Thanos, which only serves to knock the Mad Titan back into consciousness. Thanos then overpowers the heroes and manages to steal the Eye of Agamotto from Strange. As Thanos deduces that the Eye as a fake, Stark attacks him, but is quickly defeated, with Thanos destroying much of his Iron Man armor, stealing his sword and gravely injuring him with it. As Thanos prepares to kill Stark, Strange offers up the real Eye of Agamotto to spare Stark's life. Thanos accepts, adding the Time Stone to the Gauntlet. Quill again attempts to attack Thanos, but Thanos opens a portal and escapes to Wakanda on Earth.

I don't wanna go.

The Death of Spider-Man

Spider-Man is obliterated by Thanos.

Thanos then takes on the ground forces in Wakanda, comprised of Steve Rogers, T'Challa, Natasha Romanoff, James Rhodes, Bucky Barnes, Sam Wilson, Wanda Maximoff, Okoye, M'Baku, the Dora Milaje, the Jabari Tribe, Vision, Thor, Groot, and Rocket. As Thanos overpowers them, Maximoff kills her lover, Vision, in an attempt to destroy the Mind Stone embedded in his forehead. She succeeds, but Thanos uses the Time Stone to reverse time, resurrecting Vision. Thanos then rips the Mind Stone from Vision's forehead, killing him again. Thanos adds the Mind Stone to the Gauntlet, completing his collection. Thor immediately attacks him, impaling him with the Stormbreaker, but not lethally. Thanos snaps his fingers with the completed Infinity Gauntlet, allowing him to wipe half of life in the universe from existence, killing Barnes, Groot, Maximoff, T'Challa, Wilson, and half of the Wakandan army. On Titan, Drax, Mantis, Quill, and Strange also disintegrate into dust as Nebula, Parker, and Stark watch in horror. Soon, Parker himself begins to slowly disintegrate, resisting the effects of Thanos' actions. Parker can only weep and apologize to Stark before he fades into dust, leaving Stark and Nebula stranded on Titan, with Stark to quietly mourn his young friend's death.

Mr. Stark? Hey, Mr. Stark? Can you hear me? It's Peter. We won, Mr. Stark. We won, Mr. Stark. We won, and you did it, sir. You did it. I'm sorry... Tony...

Spider-Man Returns (Avengers Endgame)

Spider-Man joins the Battle of Earth

After Bruce Banner uses a recreated Infinity Gauntlet to reverse the Decimation, Spider-Man, and those who were wiped away by Thanos, were resurrected. Spider-Man joins the other superheroes into battling Thanos' army, where he activates his instant kill mode in his suit and gets help from Captain America. Spider-Man then meets Captain Marvel while holding the Infinity Gauntlet and introduces himself as Peter Parker instead of as Spider-Man and Captain Marvel assists Parker, telling him that she can get through Thanos' attacks no problem, while having the help from the female heroines. Spider-Man gets help from Captain America and Valkyrie, saying it is nice to meet her, while screaming in the air. Later on in the fight, Parker notices Iron Man wounded on the ground and rushes over to his mentor in horror. Getting worried and emotional, Peter asks Tony if he can hear him and tells him who he is. Peter realizes that Tony is not responding and is a critical state, dying. Crying, Peter apologizes to a dying Tony and is comforted by Pepper Potts, who has one final moment with her husband as his arc reactor depletes and shuts down, signifying the hero's death. A week later, Peter returns to Midtown High and emotionally reunites with Ned Leeds, who was also a victim of the blip, and attends the funeral of Iron Man with the Avengers and their allies, as well as a resurrected Aunt May.

I just really need this vacation. I need a break.

Eight months following Iron Man's death, Spider-Man is a guest speaker at F.E.A.S.T, where is Aunt May is volunteering to help those who have been displaced by the blip and have lost their homes to other people who survived the blip. Peter is excited about going on a summer school trip to Europe, to which May asks if he has everything. Happy Hogan walks in and starts to flirt with May, much to Peter's confusion and while May leaves to check the food, Peter learns that Nick Fury is going to contact him to help with some superhero duties, but Peter is unsure as to why Fury would ask him as there are other superheroes in the world. After refusing to speak to Fury on the phone, Spider-Man returns to the crowd to answer questions and speak to Fury after his trip. However, Spider-Man becomes uncomfortable regarding questions about being the leader of the Avengers and how to take over from Tony Stark, eventually having to flee as it gets too much for him. Spider-Man flees to a local rooftop and notices a memorial of his late mentor.

The next day at school, Peter reveals he has fallen in love with classmate Michelle Jones and tells Ned that he has plans to use the trip to Paris to confess his feelings towards his friend and has a plan which includes buying her a Black Dalia necklace from Venice. After school, May checks on Peter as he is packing, where he expresses his desire for a break and decides to leave his suit at home. The following day, Peter joins his classmates on their way to Europe and expresses his want to sit next to MJ on the plane, with help from Ned, but it backfires and Peter has to sit next to his teacher Mr. Harrington while MJ sits next to Brad Davis, which makes Peter jealous.

Spider-Man Far From Home (18)

The class arrive in Venice and Peter mentions how close MJ and Brad looked on the flight, expressing his jealousy and learns that Ned has began dating Betty Brant, whom he sat next to on the flight. The class starts to explore Venice, which gives Parker the chance to buy MJ the Black Dalia necklace and the two meet up and bond. However, the city is suddenly attacked by a water elemental known as Hydro-Man and Peter decides to help, but has left his suit in his hotel room so asks Ned to take everyone away from the area so he can find something to cover his face. Parker finds a mask and meets a new superhero and helps him defeat the water monster.

The class travel to Prague where Spider-Man accidentally sets a drone strike on Brad Davis after Davis takes a photo of Parker with a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, believing they are hooking up. Spider-Man manages to get everyone distracted so he can jump out the roof and stop the oncoming attack. Later that night, Peter is back in his room with Ned and isn't worried as the other guy is all over it and expresses his hopes to now spend time with MJ, until Ned is knocked out by "Nick Fury", who informs Parker about the other attacks that will approach and asks for his help. Spider-Man joins "Fury" and goes with him to his hideout where he meets "Maria Hill" and learns the new superhero Parker helped earlier is Quentin Beck, known as Mysterio. Spider-Man tells "Fury" that he wants to help, but is worried that his classmates are going to figure out his identity if he is not back at he hotel and asks about other Avengers like Thor and Captain Marvel, to which "Fury" mentions both heroes are unavailable and off-world. Peter manages to convince "Fury" that he needs to return back to his hotel and continue his trip.

Knowing about the upcoming attack, Parker manages to make sure his classmates are inside safe so they receive opera tickets to keep them indoors for several hours. Peter catches up with MJ, who offers to sit next to him and tells her he will catch her up, while feeling sad he has to leave. However, MJ notices Parker leaving and decides to follow him as well as Ned and Betty.

Given a new suit, Spider-Man works with Mysterio to stop the fire elemental as MJ, Ned and Betty leave the theatre to explore Prague, until they are attacked by a fire elemental known as Molten-Man while at the carnival. Spider-Man saves them while assisting Mysterio who seemingly gives his life to defeat the attacker until he is shown to be a little injured, and MJ watches as her suspicions of Peter increase. Beck asks Parker to join, to which he tells his ally he isn't old enough to drink.

Peter and Beck discuss their recent heroics and Peter expresses his wants to have a normal life and finally go on his trip with his friends as well as telling MJ he loves her and give her a kiss, much to Beck's amusement and Peter tells him he can't do this because he has too much responsibility as Spider-Man. Parker decides to give Mysterio the E.D.I.T.H. glasses that Iron Man left for him and leaves, continuing his trip, while Mysterio reveals himself to actually use these glasses as revenge against Iron Man's legacy and become known as the greatest superhero in the word.

Spider-Man Far From Home (77)

Peter and MJ go on a date.

Peter returns to the hotel and reunites with Ned who tells him the trip is over because the student's parents want them home after learning of the recent attacks. Learning this, Peter decides to asks MJ on a date to confess his love for her and give her the necklace, which she imminently accepts and they go for a walk. They walk to a bridge and Peter starts to try and tell MJ he likes her until she tells him she knows he is Spider-Man, much to Parker's surprise and he tries to deny it until they find out that Mysterio has tricked him and that all the attacks across Europe are because of Beck using illusion tech to look realistic. Peter confirms MJ's theory that he is indeed Spider-Man and they rush back to his hotel room.

The teenagers arrive at the hotel and Peter expresses his concern about having given Beck the glasses and accidentally admits to MJ that he sent a drone strike on Brad Davis. Peter starts to change into his Spider-Man outfit in front of MJ, who blushes and turns around, but still manages to take a peak at her crush changing. Ned, starts to panic as to why Peter is wearing his suit in front of MK, to which Parker tells his friend that she knows his secret identity. Both Peter and MJ tell Ned the truth about Beck's lies and deception. Ned and MJ agree to help Parker and ask his Aunt May to have him removed from the trip so he can do his duties as Spider-Man. Spider-Man swings out of the window while a mesmerized MJ watches before Ned shows jealousy that he is no longer the only one, other than May, who knows Peter is Spider-Man, while mentioning he knew longer.

Spider-Man arrives in Berlin where he is greeted by "Fury", who takes him to a secret location where he explains Beck's deception and his use of illusion tech and drones, to Fury and Hill. However, Parker soon finds out that the base and both Fury and Hill are also illusions by Mysterio, who tricked Parker into confessing he knows about Beck's plan. Mysterio taunts Parker by creating a lot of illusions around the hero, including a zombified Iron Man as well as the Eiffel Tower, where Spider-Man tries and fails to save MJ. However, Beck is seemingly shot by Fury until he reveals the Beck who taunted him is actually the real one who posed as Fury and declares Peter's friends have to die now they know he is Spider-Man as well as Mysterio's intentions. Mysterio then suddenly sends Parker into an oncoming train, which hits him. Luckily, Parker survives but passes out in one of the seats.

Parker arrives in the Netherlands and finds himself in a jail cell. He is cared for by some local sports fans who have been arrested and manages to let himself out when he notices the guard has his stealth suit and leaves. Finding himself in a local market, Peter calls Happy and awaits his arrival to collect him. Happy soon picks up Peter who is still shaken from Mysterio's deception that he demands that Happy proves it really is him and not another one of Beck's tricks. Peter warmly hugs Happy after realising it really is him and is delighted to have some around him that isn't tricking or lying to him.

Peter misses Tony

While on the Stark jet, Peter is having stitches done by Happy when he tells him to relax, which makes Parker finally snap. Peter angrily tells Happy about Beck's lies and desire to kill his friends and finally breaks down. Peter apologises to Happy for shouting and mentions how much he misses Tony, in tears. Peter says how everyone expects him to be the next Iron Man, to which happy says that Peter will never be Iron Man, but Tony wouldn't want him to be the same, only himself, and that he had faith in Parker. From encouragement from Happy, Peter decides he needs to defeat Mysterio once and for all and creates a new suit for himself. While the suit finishes being made, Peter asks Happy to give MJ the necklace in case he doesn't return and they realize his classmates are on their way to London.

Spider-Man Far From Home - Spider-Man vs Mysterio

Arriving in London, Spider-Man tries to destroy all the drones Beck is using and manages to find his way inside the illusions to destroy them from the inside. Spider-Man makes his way to Beck while Happy goes to rescue Parker's friends. Spider-Man confronts Beck on the bridge, demanding to have the glasses back. Refusing, Beck tells him to come and get them and causes another illusion of utter darkness around Spider-Man, who uses his spider-sense to navigate his way through the darkness and destroy the drones. Peter manages to regain control of the glasses after stopping Beck from shooting him and is hit by his own drones. Speaking to E.D.I.T.H., Spider-Man asks her to stop the illusions and asks a dying Beck why he did all damage around the world. Hearing Beck's last words, an injured Spider-Man leaves the bridge as Mysterio passes away.

Michelle and Peter's First Kiss

Peter and MJ express their love with a kiss.

Making his way back across the bridge, Peter spots MJ running towards him and they embrace each other, thrilled that they are both safe and alive. Peter learns that his friends and Happy are all okay and she shows him the broken necklace that Happy gave her. Peter apologises to MJ about the necklace being broken and she kisses him to stop him from talking. Surprised, Peter likes the kiss and tells MJ that he wants to be with her, to which she happily reciprocates. The two kiss again before going their separate ways.

Shortly after, Peter reunites with his classmates on their way back to America and starts a relationship with MJ, whom he sits next to on the flight back. The couple discuss meeting up later for their date and Peter suggests to Ned and Betty that the two couples go on a double date, until Ned mentions that he and Betty broke up on their way back from Europe. Later that day, Peter asks May and Happy if they are dating after being suspicious of their recent time together. May denies their relationship, while Happy says yes which causes awkward tension and a discussion, which makes Peter uncomfortable. Seeing the chat get more weird, Parker flies out of the window to meet MJ for their date.

Mysterio reveals through the footage that Spider-Man's real name is Peter Parker, much to the horror and shock of Spider-Man who can't do anything but be horrified.

Ever since I got bit by that spider, I've only had one week where my life has felt normal. Or kinda normal I guess. And....that was when you found out. Because then everyone who was in my life, that I wanted to know, knew. And it was perfect. Now everybody knows. And....I am the most famous person in the entire world, and I'm still broke.
―Peter to MJ[src]
Spider-Man No Way Home - Photography - MJ and Spider-Man

A week following his return to the states, Peter finishes his date with MJ as Spider-Man when his identity is revealed by Mysterio, who framed him for the attacks in London. Shocked, Spider-Man swings down to MJ after noticing she is being bombarded by the public with questions about being his girlfriend. Peter swings away with MJ and they return to his apartment after she tells him they shouldn't go to her's since MJ's dad will hate him, much to Peter's offense as he thought her dad liked him for her.

The two arrive in Peter's bedroom where they are panicking on what to do about his identity being revealed to the world. However, while Peter is in his underwear, his Aunt May and Happy Hogan open the door and are shocked to see Peter and MJ like this, believing they are about to have sex. Peter tries to tell Happy and May it isn't what they think and learn that the two broke up. Peter tries to change the conversation to focus on May and Happy's relationship as he thought she was in love and May tells her nephew he should never feel awkward about sex, to which he tells his aunt this has nothing to do with that. Everyone then notices that their apartment is being surrounded by helicopters and press.

Spider-Man No Way Home - Peter & MJ Almost Kiss

That evening after both Happy and MJ have left, Peter and May are arrested by Damage Control Agent Cleary who takes them, Ned Leeds and MJ into custody to be questioned upon their relations with Parker. Peter denies killing Mysterio and learns that it wasn't actually Nick Fury who worked with him during the European trip as he had been off-world for the last year, which greatly confuses Parker. The next day, Peter and May contact Matt Murdock to represent him as his lawyer, who manages to make sure the charges against the Avenger don't stick, much to their relief, but they still have to deal with the public's opinions. After someone throws a brick into the apartment window, May and Peter realize they must move to somewhere safer so move in with Happy into his highly securitized condo. That night Peter speaks with MJ on video chat and tells her he is just happy that she knew his identity before the whole world did. The two wish each other a good night as they are forced to hang up by Happy.

The next day, Peter, MJ, and Ned arrive at school for the new semester, but are surrounded by press and police. At lunch, Peter and MJ flee to the rooftop where they are about to kiss before being interrupted by Ned who wants to live with the couple when they get to M.I.T. They agree and Peter comforts MJ as she shares her worry about being let down. Peter tells MJ they will all be together as he takes her hand.

Over the next few weeks, Peter is anxiously awaiting the arrival of his M.I.T acceptance letter and looks through it with Ned and MJ when it finally arrives in early November. The three of them all open their respective letters and learn that neither of them got in because of the issue with Mysterio. Peter tries to assure his friend and girlfriend that they shouldn't be blamed for this as they didn't actually cause any damage. While MJ accepts this, Peter decides to visit Doctor Strange and ask for help.

Spider-Man No Way Home - Peter Parker

Arriving at the New York Sanctum, Peter greets Doctor Strange and Wong, asking for their help to make the world forget Myserio revealed his identity as Spider-Man. Wong disapproves of the apparent spell, while Strange agrees to cast it. As Strange starts to cast the spell, Parker learns that everybody including MJ, Ned and May will also forget, which makes Peter worry that MJ might forget that she is his girlfriend. Peter keeps speaking during the casting and changes it five times, much to Strange's irritation as he has to contain it, especially after learning that Peter didn't even think about speaking to the head of commissions before asking Strange to brainwash the entire world. Angry, Strange kicks Parker out of the sanctum and he manages to locate the head of commissions with Flash Thompson's help.

While speaking with the woman, Peter dons his Spider-Man suit when he notices giant tentacles destroying the bridge. Spider-Man manages to battle the visitor and save the woman, while being confused about his machine.

Spider-Man battles the visitor who thinks he is the Spider-Man from his world and is thrown into a car, but manages to work his way out thanks to his armor and is furious when Doctor Octopus mentions he should of killed Parker's girlfriend when he had the chance, thinking he is talking about MJ. Spider-Man manages to take the upper hand and take control of Doc Ock's tentacles and Peter demands to know who this guy is until they hear mysterious laughter and noticed someone flying towards them on a glider.

Spider-Man No Way Home - Peter & MJ Hug

In the sanctum, Peter is confronted by Strange who tells him the spell he botched caused people from other universes to arrive into this one as they know a Peter Parker who is Spider-Man in their worlds. Strange then tells Peter that he found the Lizard and Parker promises to fix his mess, but needs help so recruits Ned and MJ. Allowing Spider-Man to fix his mistakes, Doctor Strange gives him magical webs.

Ned and MJ arrive at the sanctum, where Peter and Doctor Strange explain what happened. Peter tries to justify his actions when both MJ and Ned are okay with it, but she tells him she wishes he had told her sooner as they would have helped him come up with ideas. Peter is greatful for his girlfriend's words and introduces her and Ned to the tentacle being whom introduces himself as Doctor Otto Octavius, much to the teens' amusement and his fustration. Upon learning about other villains, Doc Ock informs Parker that the "flying green elf" he saw on the bridge was originally known as Norman Osborn who died years ago after being impaled by his own glider, believing the person they saw must be a ghost.

Peter goes on patrol as Spider-Man to locate the Goblin and instead meets Sandman and Electro who he sends back to the undercroft where Peter, MJ and Ned are working. While speaking with the villains, Peter, MJ and Ned learn that they were all fighting their own versions of Spider-Men before they were about to die. Peter agrees to help the villains return to their own universes before Strange stops him, which results in a battle between the two superheroes. Spider-Man takes the upper hand by trapping Strange in the Grand Canyon for twelve hours before returning to the sanctum with his sling ring, which he gives to Ned to keep hold of while Peter cures the villains. Peter kisses MJ as they leave to go to Ned's house, while he goes back to Happy's apartment with May and the displaced villains in hopes to cure them.

No Way Home - May's Final Moments

However, over the next few hours, Peter starts working on the cures with the help of Norman Osborn and is successful in curing Doc Ock, who gives Parker a new suit as a thank you and offers to help. Although things look good, Peter's spider-sense soon activates, and he senses danger within the condo. Peter calls out for May and realizes the Green Goblin has overtaken Osborn's mind. Spider-Man fights the Goblin while May tries to make a quick escape and the remaining villains flee. The entire complex is destroyed while Green Goblin holds Spider-Man by the throat. Unable to breathe properly, Peter begs his aunt to leave, fearing she is in danger, but she stands her ground against the villain, which results in her being impaled by the Goblin's glider. Peter ties to stop the pumpkin bomb Osborn sets off, which blows up the complex as Green Goblin escapes. Peter and May reunite and embrace when he tells her he may have broken his ribs. Peter tries to get May to stand, and they prepare to leave when she suddenly starts to fall. Peter tells May he should have listened to her advice about sending the villains back to their worlds, but May tells him he did the right thing, quoting "with great power, there must also come great responsibility". The duo starts to exit as May collapses and Peter checks on her. Peter realizes she is bleeding out and calls for an ambulance, but no one comes. Peter tearfully notices May is in a critical condition and tries to tell her everything is okay in her final moments, saying it's just the two of them. May passes away in front of Peter who desperately ties to get her to look at him to no avail. Realizing May has died, Peter sees Happy nearby who tells Parker to flee as the police start shooting. Peter, crying, apologizes to May as he kisses her head and leaves the area, leaving her corpse behind.

No Way Home - Peters point at each other

Several hours later, with the help of Peter's older counterparts, MJ and Ned find their Spider-Man mourning his aunt on the roof of their school and comfort him, as he breaks down into his girlfriend's arms. MJ then introduces Peter to his older selves who express their condolences for their younger counterpart and explain their experiences of loss with uncle Ben and Gwen Stacy. Peter tells his older selves about his desire to tear the Green Goblin apart for killing May and quotes his aunt with "great power", as the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man finishes the quote for him. Peter asks his alternate self how he knows that line, to which The Amazing Spider-Man says Uncle Ben said it the day he died.

With the boost of encouragement from his alternate selves, MJ and Ned, Peter agrees to make the remaining cures while working with them and expresses to MJ that he thinks he ruined her life. MJ comforts her boyfriend in saying he did not ruin her life, and she is here for him, not going anywhere. Peter thanks his girlfriend as they warmly embrace each other while The Amazing Spider-Man looks on, remembering Gwen. The Spider-Men then agree to lure the villains to the Statue of Liberty to cure them so that no civilians are in danger, now that the cures are complete.

The three Spider-Men bond over their adventures as the superhero and Peter tells them about fighting Thanos in space and on earth. The villains all soon arrive, and the Spider-Men work together, with Peter-One (mainstream Spider-Man) taking charge due to his experience of working as a team (the Avengers). They fight the villains when MJ starts to fall off the scaffolding of the Statue of Liberty and Peter goes after his love, to try and save her, but the Goblin pushes him out the way with his glider. Luckily, MJ is saved by Peter-Three (The Amazing Spider-Man), preventing her from having the same fate as Gwen. Peter-One battles the Goblin on the shield display to symbolize Steve Rogers, as Ned, MJ, Peter-Three, Peter-Two (Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man), and the other villains watch in horror, who have been cured. Losing control of his ferocity and savagery, Peter almost impales Osborn with his glider as revenge for killing May, but is stopped by Peter-Two, who gets stabbed in the back by Osborn. Peter-One ferociously and savagely jabs the Goblin cure into Osborn, destroying the Green Goblin persona once and for all. Now back to his normal self, Osborn asks Parker what he had done, but gets no response as Peter reunites with his older selves and tends to Peter-Two's injuries.

No Way Home - Spider-Men Hug

Peter thanks his older counterparts for their help.

Peter-One is informed that the multiverse is breaking from Strange so asks him to cast a final spell that will make everyone in the world forget who Peter Parker is, rather than just Spider-Man. Doctor Strange tells Peter this would work, but everyone Peter loves won't know he exists. Peter accepts this and bids farewell to his ally before doing the same to his alternate selves, thanking them for their help before they return to their own worlds. Peter swings over to Ned and MJ and informs them of what will happen. Devastated, MJ tries to come up with a plan, but Peter tells her there is nothing they can do, promising he will try to find them and explain everything to them. Ned and Peter have a tearful goodbye and hug before the hero has to do the same with his girlfriend. Both heartbroken over what's about to happen, Peter is told by MJ that if he doesn't tell her, she will figure out he is Spider-Man as she has already figured it out before, and they admit they love each other. Both crying they share one final, very passionate kiss, as the spell starts to take effect. Peter takes one last look at the woman he loves as MJ mouths one final "I love you", before he swings off into the distance.

In December 2024, now that no one knows who Peter Parker is, he mourns May at her grave, alone. Parker is suddenly greeted by Happy Hogan, who also doesn't know who this teenager is. Happy asks Peter how he knew May and not wanting to reveal himself as May's nephew, he tells him he knew her through Spider-Man. The men talk about May and Peter tells Happy to take care of himself, which Happy also tells Parker to do. Ready to leave the graveyard, Peter starts to make his exit as Happy watches the stranger walk off. A few weeks later, in December, Peter moves into a rundown apartment and continues his duties as Spider-Man while finding both MJ and Ned at the Peter Pan Donut and Pastry shop, where she works. Peter is about to give MJ the letter that explains everything as they chat, until she tells him she is no longer in pain. Hearing this, Parker decides not to tell MJ who he is and leaves, as MJ is left wondering if she knows this stranger and has a hint of recognition of her forgotten love. While in his apartment, Peter creates his own Spider-Man suit without the Stark tech, while keeping his aunt May's words of wisdom in mind, as he flies off into the night, across New York City to fight crime.

While Spider-Man does not appear in the film, he is mentioned by Wong and Doctor Strange. They mention the recent universal crisis Spider-Man caused. America Chavez asks if Spider-Man is a bug or human and how his powers work. Strange and Wong explain to Chavez that he is a man with the abilities of a spider, and he can shoot webs out of his body.

Spider-Man appears in the Disney Infinity: 2.0 Edition Spider-Man Play Set by protecting New York City from Green Goblin and Venom's symbiote forces. He is also playable in the Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set for 3.0. A version of him in his black suit is also playable, being available as both a figure and Costume Change Power Disc.

Spider-Man appears as a playable character in the Capcom fighting game Marvel Super Heroes, and one of the most-well known veteran fighters in Marvel vs. Capcom series: Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, and Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
