Speaker Abbas's Bold Claim: Tinubu Outshines All Presidents in Kaduna's History
Speaker Abbas Tajudeen lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for unprecedented developments in Kaduna State, citing numerous federal university upgrades, a light rail project, and significant road constructions. During a groundbreaking ceremony in Zaria, the Speaker and Governor Uba Sani called on residents to reciprocate this "exceptional love" through their votes in 2027.
The speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has asserted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has achieved more for Kaduna State than any president or head of state since Nigeria's independence in 1960.
Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony for 11 key township roads across Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas in Zaria, performed by Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani.
The speaker, Tajudeen challenged anyone with a differing opinion to identify a Nigerian leader who has demonstrated comparable dedication to the state in just three years.
Tajudeen strongly refuted claims of President Tinubu being a tribalist, stating, "I challenge anyone to tell me of any president, right from 1960, after Sardauna, who has been able to bring more phenomenal projects to Kaduna State than President Bola Ahmed Tinubu."
He supported his assertion by detailing significant developments in the education sector, and historically, Kaduna State had only one federal university, established in 1962.
Under President Tinubu's administration, the Federal College of Education, Zaria, has been upgraded to the Federal University of Education, Zaria, providing the city with a second federal university.
Furthermore, a new Federal University of Applied Sciences was established in Kachia, and another institution belonging to the Petroleum Training Institute was converted into a university just three weeks prior.
The Speaker also disclosed President Tinubu's plan to upgrade Kaduna Polytechnic to the Federal University of Technology, Kaduna, in the coming months, which would bring the total number of federal universities in Kaduna State to five.
Beyond education, Speaker Tajudeen highlighted President Tinubu's groundbreaking infrastructure projects.
Kaduna has been selected as one of only four cities in Nigeria to benefit from a light rail project, a first in the nation's history.
This "unprecedented project," estimated to cost hundreds of billions of naira, aims to alleviate transportation challenges in areas like Kaduna, Rigasa, and Sabon Tasha.
Governor Uba Sani further added that President Tinubu approved an additional N178 billion for the construction of the Mando to Birnin Gwari road, with work scheduled to commence within the next week.
The Speaker also lauded Governor Uba Sani for his exemplary leadership and commitment to Zaria.
He recalled an instance where the Governor intervened to secure a large, unutilized parcel of land within Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic for the establishment of four additional federal institutions in Zaria: a Federal College of Technical and Vocational Education, a Sports Academy, a College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, and a College of Agricultural Sciences.
The 11 road projects being flagged off, including Babban Dodo–Durumi–Kofan Kuyanbana, Rimin Tsiwa–Kofan Gayan, Maje Road, Turunku Road (Sabon Gari), Waff Road, Layin Radio Road, Aba Road, Turunku Road (Sabon Layi, Tudun Wada), Dadda’u Road, Sheikh Umar Muazu Street, and Idris Majeh Street, are expected to significantly address infrastructural deficits in Zaria and will be completed within four to five months.
Both Speaker Tajudeen and Governor Sani appealed to the people of Zaria and Kaduna State to demonstrate their gratitude by voting massively for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.
Governor Sani emphasized that the people-oriented projects and Speaker Tajudeen's ability to attract development to Zaria are direct results of President Tinubu's support.
He also assured the audience that President Tinubu has affirmed Speaker Tajudeen's return as Speaker by God's will, urging prayers to ensure the Speakership remains in Kaduna State, specifically Zaria.
