Spain - Unicaja-tabs-Emir-Sulejmanovic
Defending champion Unicaja Malaga (Liga Endesa) signed 29-year-old Finnish-Bosnia and Herzegovina ex-international 205cm power forward Emir Sulejmanovic for the upcoming season. He played for Casademont Zaragoza in the Liga Endesa for the last two years. In 31 games, he averaged 13.7ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.3apg, and 1.3spg last season. He also played 12 games in FIBA Europe Cup, where he had 10.8ppg, 4.9rpg, and 2.0apg. Sulejmanovic helped them reach the quarterfinals.
He was also a member of the Finnish international program for some years. Sulejmanovic played for Finnish Senior National Team back in 2013 and previously for the Under 16 National Team in 2011.
He represented Finland at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 6.6 ppg and had 4.6 rpg.
Sulejmanovic is a very experienced player. He has played in Croatia (Cibona), Finland (Ura Basket), Italy, and Slovenia (Petrol Olimpija Ljubljana and Petrol Olimpija Ljubljana 2nd team) and Spain (Breogan Lugo, Tenerife, FC Barcelona Lassa 2nd team, Surne Bilbao, and Fuenlabrada).
He won the Basketball League championship title in 2022. Sulejmanovic received the Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LEB Gold Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LEB Gold Bosman Player of the Year award in 2018.
