Ongoing tensions between Thailand and Cambodia have been marked by a complex interplay of diplomatic efforts, allegations of aggression, and a significant disinformation campaign. Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has firmly rejected claims circulating on social media that Thailand is planning to assassinate Cambodian leaders Hun Sen and Hun Manet. These allegations, originating from Cambodia's Minister of Information, were deemed entirely unfounded and defaming by Nikorndej Balankura, Director-General of the Department of Information, who stressed that such false news undermines ongoing General Border Committee (GBC) discussions aimed at peaceful resolution.
