Southeast APC Unites: Leaders Declare Unwavering Allegiance to Tinubu

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Nigeria's South-East geopolitical zone have unequivocally pledged their support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. This significant commitment was announced at the conclusion of the Izu Umunne gathering in Enugu, where the regional leaders collectively resolved to back the APC, identifying it as the most practical political platform for the sustained development of the South-East.
The decision by the South-East APC leaders is deeply rooted in the party’s transformative policies and the substantial opportunities that President Tinubu’s administration has consistently provided for the region. They further committed to actively mobilising resources to ensure a landslide victory for President Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections. In a formal communique, the leaders unequivocally distanced themselves from any activities motivated by narrow personal interests, reaffirming their collective dedication to unity and progress within the region and the party.
A strong appeal was made to all sons and daughters of Igboland to embrace and support the APC, recognizing it as the most effective vehicle for realizing their political, economic, and social aspirations. The leaders extended commendation to President Tinubu’s administration for its demonstrable efforts in bridging critical infrastructural gaps across the South-East, elevating numerous Igbo individuals to prominent key national positions, and consistently showcasing a profound commitment to inclusive governance. They expressed unwavering confidence that President Tinubu’s continued leadership promises a future filled with bright prospects for the region's comprehensive development.
Furthermore, the South-East APC leaders explicitly aligned themselves with the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and the collective five governors from the region, pledging their steadfast loyalty and support. They issued a rallying call to all Ndi Igbo, urging them to unite behind President Tinubu and the APC to collaboratively build a prosperous future for their children and generations to come.
Several prominent figures reiterated this stance. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, emphatically urged the South-East to support President Tinubu’s re-election, arguing that such a move would substantially strengthen the Igbo bargaining power within the broader Nigerian political landscape. Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, called upon party leaders to cultivate harmony and meticulously avoid any actions that could potentially bring the party into disrepute, emphasizing,
