Sophie Habboo's Agonizing Pregnancy: Unusual Symptom Causes Excruciating Pain

Sophie Habboo, the 30-year-old radio host and expectant mother, has been candidly sharing the details of her pregnancy journey with husband Jamie Laing through social media and their 'NearlyParents'podcast. Recently, she revealed a particularly agonizing and unusual symptom that has left her in excruciating pain: her coccyx, or tailbone, has “popped out.”
According to Habboo, the pressure from the weight of her pregnancy has caused her tailbone to protrude, a condition she noted is not typically expected at this stage of pregnancy. The discomfort is so severe that it prevents her from sitting down comfortably. She described the sensation as feeling like she has “broken a bone in [her] bum” and experiences “stabbing needles” every time she attempts to sit. This has forced her to adopt an unusual posture, sitting “lopsided” with “one bum cheek in the air at all times,” even while driving.

Her husband, Jamie Laing, found humor in her predicament, though acknowledging her pain. Habboo also shared a rather unconventional and humorous anecdote about the doctor's suggested method for re-aligning the coccyx, which involves manual manipulation. She admitted to feeling like a “cow” imagining herself on all fours during the procedure with an osteopath, a visual Jamie further elaborated on with playful suggestions for a Halloween costume.
The revelation garnered a wave of sympathy and shared experiences from her followers in the comments section. Many recounted similar painful incidents, with one individual describing the pain of a broken coccyx as the “worst I’ve ever experienced,” even leading to passing out. Others echoed the sentiment, mentioning needing specialized cushions like a child’s swimming ring to sit on, or regretting that the pain lingered post-pregnancy.
Several commenters offered support and warned her to monitor the condition, with one even sharing a personal experience of developing an abscess due to similar issues, making sitting horrendous. Sophie Habboois planning to consult an osteopath in hopes of finding relief for this painful and unique pregnancy complication, as she and Jamie prepare to welcome their first child.
