Preliminary investigation revealed that the Saturn Ion, driven by a Lake Odessa man, crossed the centerline of the roadway, resulting in the crash.

The occupants of both vehicles were transported to nearby hospitals, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Significant snowfall and alcohol use are believed to be factors in the crash.
