'Sister Wives' Star Meri Brown Responds to Accusation That She's "Still Protecting" Kody & Robyn Brown; Claims Some Things "Deserve to Be Kept Quiet"
is defending her decision to take the high road following her split from husband , insisting this week that some things “deserve to be kept quiet.”
Meri spoke about her post-split treatment of both Kody and his only remaining wife, , in a Live interview with content creator Grace Lovely, during which the TLC star revealed that she has been “attacked” by fans on social media for allegedly protecting the now-monogamous couple, despite having left her plural marriage in early 2023.
“ … Here’s the thing, I don’t personally think that just because I get a divorce [it] means I hate a person or I need to go tell all the tea or I need to say what really happened,” Meri said. “I don’t believe that. There’s still some things that deserve to be kept quiet.”

As fans of ‘Sister Wives’ know, Meri was the last of Kody’s OG wives to leave him. gave him the boot in late 2021, followed by in 2022.
Despite Kody and Meri’s marriage being strained for many years leading up to their split, Meri has remained far less outspoken about her feelings towards Kody and Robyn in recent years than Christine and Janelle– something that has presumably contributed to the criticism she claims to receive from some of the show’s fans.

Later on in her interview, Meri agreed that her decision to remain quiet on certain details about Kody and Robyn is not made to protect the couple, but rather to respect them– similar to the decision many divorced couples make to not bad mouth one another in front of their children.
“ … I’m not gonna do it in front of the world because I don’t need to,” Meri added. “ … I don’t need to do that.”

While Meri said she didn’t need to speak badly about Kody and/or Robyn in public, she admitted that there have been times when she’s revealed things either on TV or on social media that she didn’t intend to share at the time.

“Sometimes things just slip out of my mouth on camera and it’s like, ‘Oops, did that just happen?’ But for the most part, I just don’t think that things need to be said,” she explained.
Meri also said that she plans to take this same approach when it comes to dating people, insisting that she won’t partake in any trash talking about Kody with her future partner, nor will she compare her ex-husband to any new man that may come along.

“ … I will use my experiences and what I learned from [my marriage] and be like, ‘OK, I recognize this is how I was treated or this is how things happen,’ but not, ‘Well, [Kody] used to do it this way … ,’” she said. “ … I want my relationship, my future relationship, to be with that person that I’m building a relationship with.
“Now, I can take lessons from the past, but I’m not going to live in the past … ,” she added.
