has finally been released. Siddhant plays the role of Neelesh, a small-town boy, who delivers a powerful and emotionally charged performance, as seen in the trailer. The actor hails from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh and spoke about how he had been missing a role like this.

Siddhant Chaturvedi has mostly portrayed urban characters. This marks his first venture into the world of small-town India on screen – a move that resonates with his roots.

At the trailer launch of Dhadak 2, Siddhant reflected on bagging a role such as this in his acting journey. He said, “As an actor, I feel truly fortunate that Karan sir had faith in me and chose me to portray a small-town character. Until now, most of the films I’ve done have been urban-centric, and since I come from a small town, Ballia, I was missing that kind of small-town story."

He also said, “I still remember when Karan sir called me and said, ‘There’s a story you should hear.’ Our director Shazia was also present during the narration. The moment I heard it, I instantly said yes. I didn’t know how I was going to play the part because it’s quite an intense character—and as always, by default, I ended up choosing another intense role." Watch the trailer of Dhadak 2 here:

The film’s female lead, Triptii Dimri, who started her career with films such as Laila Majnu and Bulbbul, spoke about why Dhadak 2 holds a deeply personal significance. “When I started my acting career, I had wished to be a part of certain kinds of films, and I have been a part of those films," Triptii shared during the event. “Dhadak 2 is not a usual story, in fact, it is special beyond measure. It was quite challenging to play the part. I have always desired to play such kinds of characters that could challenge me as an actor, so the thrill of acting continues. And I feel that was justified in Dhadak 2. We are quite proud of this film, and the audiences will realize this once they watch it in theatres," she expressed.

Directed by Shazia Iqbal in her debut feature, Dhadak 2 is produced by a powerhouse team including Karan Johar, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Aroraa, Somen Mishra, and Pragati Deshmukh. The film is set to release in theatres on August 1, 2025.
