Shocking Setback: Charley Crockett's Canadian Tour Axed Over Decade-Old Drug Conviction!

Country music star Charley Crockett has announced the cancellation of his Canadian tour dates, attributing the decision to his inability to enter the country. The announcement came Monday, February 23, via Instagram, where Crockett shared an official report from Canada’s immigration, refugees and citizenship department. The document confirmed he was denied entry due to a conviction dating back to March 2016, when he was found guilty of possessing over five pounds of marijuana with intent to sell in Virginia.
In a heartfelt message to his fans posted alongside the immigration report, Crockett acknowledged his past, stating, “Everybody’s got a past. Mine’s still haunting me.” He explained his unsuccessful attempts to cross the Canadian border twice within a 24-hour period, being turned away by patrol agents in both Vancouver and Kelowna. Crockett conveyed that he was advised against further attempts to enter the country, as it could jeopardize his freedom, leading to the necessary cancellation of all upcoming performances in Canada.
Crockett extended his apologies to everyone affected by the cancellations, recognizing the inconvenience and financial impact on his fans. He assured them that full refunds would be issued at their points of purchase. Despite the setback, the singer expressed deep affection for his Canadian audience and the country itself. “Canada’s such a beautiful country full of some of the best fans in the world, and I’ve had the time of my life playing shows for y’all,” he wrote, adding a resolute promise: “I ain’t one to quit and I aim to be back one of these days real soon.” Billboard has reportedly reached out to Canada’s Border Services Agency for further comment on the matter.
The canceled Canadian trek was originally scheduled to begin Saturday, February 21, with a show at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver, which Live Nation British Columbia had previously announced as postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. Crockett had additional performances planned across several Canadian provinces, including Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Quebec, all of which will no longer proceed as scheduled.
This news follows closely on the heels of Crockett’s recent announcement regarding his new album, “Age of the Ram,” which is slated for release on April 3. This upcoming record marks the third installment in his “Sagebrush Trilogy.” The first two albums in the series, “Lonesome Drifter” and “Dollar a Day,” were released in 2025, making “Age of the Ram” a highly anticipated addition to his discography.
