Shocking Comeback: 12-Year-Old Sci-Fi Thriller Racks Up 55.5 Million Hours Watched!

In the 2010s, The CW network distinguished itself as a hub for captivating teen dramas, with a particular emphasis on escapist storytelling. Among its celebrated productions, *The 100* emerged as a true standout, often described as the network's crowning jewel. Premiering in 2014, this dystopian series masterfully blended the elements of a steamy teen drama with the gritty reality of the post-apocalyptic genre, creating a unique and entertaining narrative experience.
Inspired by the teen novels of Kass Morgan, *The 100* transports viewers generations into a future where a devastating nuclear holocaust has rendered Earth uninhabitable. The remnants of humanity, the world's great powers, sought refuge on the Arc, a sophisticated space station designed to safeguard the population until the Earth could recover. However, generations spent in space led to dire resource scarcity, necessitating extremely harsh laws: families were permitted only one child, and virtually any offense, no matter how minor, was punishable by death, or being "floated" into space. The sole exception was for children under 18, who were instead sentenced to juvenile detention.
As life support systems on the Arc began to fail, desperate measures were taken. To buy time and ascertain if Earth had become habitable once more, 100 juvenile delinquents were controversially sent back to the planet's surface. Among these unfortunate youths was the sensitive and intelligent Clarke (portrayed by Eliza Taylor), who had been sentenced to detention for apparent treason. Upon reaching Earth, Clarke and the other delinquents were astonished to discover they were not instantly obliterated by nuclear fallout. Their relief was short-lived, however, as they quickly realized they were far from alone on the supposedly deserted planet.
