Shocking Billions Scandal: Ruto-Linked Firm Nabs Sh337 Billion Tender Without Application!

Fresh details have emerged regarding EDF Kenya Ltd and its involvement in the substantial Sh337 billion Grand Falls Dam project. Revelations indicate that the company secured this lucrative contract by leveraging its perceived proximity to President William Ruto, rather than through a conventional bidding process.
It has been brought to light that EDF Kenya Ltd did not formally bid for the Grand Falls Dam project. Instead, the company's entry into this mega dam undertaking was initiated through a letter dispatched to the National Irrigation Authority. This letter reportedly stated that EDF's leadership had engaged in a high-level meeting with President Ruto in Paris, during which the tender was discussed. Based on this meeting, EDF asserted that it should therefore be awarded the project.
This unconventional method of securing a public project worth hundreds of billions of shillings raises significant questions about transparency and adherence to procurement regulations within Kenya's infrastructure development landscape. The project's value and the manner of its awarding have positioned it as a subject of considerable scrutiny.
