SHOCKER! Australian World Cup Star Volpato Fails Cocaine Test!

Australian World Cup midfielder Cristian Volpato is facing serious allegations after reportedly testing positive for cocaine following two separate high-speed traffic stops in Sydney within a single night. The 22-year-old player's international driver's licence has been suspended, and inquiries are continuing as a secondary sample undergoes laboratory analysis.

The sequence of events began when Volpato was first pulled over on the Anzac Bridge. He was caught driving between 86-94 km/h in a designated 60 km/h zone. At this initial stop, he reportedly passed a breath test for alcohol. However, just two hours later, at approximately 1:00 am, Volpato was stopped again in the same zone, this time for allegedly reaching a speed of 109 km/h. During this second traffic stop, he is reported to have returned a positive oral fluid test for cocaine.

Following the incidents, police issued a speeding fine to Volpato and immediately suspended his international driver’s licence for a period of six months within New South Wales. The alleged positive oral fluid test for cocaine has prompted further investigation, with a secondary sample having been sent for a more definitive laboratory analysis to confirm the initial result.

Volpato, who made three appearances for the Socceroos at the World Cup where they exited in the round of 32 on penalties to Egypt, had notably switched his national allegiance from Italy to Australia just prior to the tournament. In the last Serie A season, he played 24 matches for Sassuolo. The news has drawn reactions from football authorities; Football Australia has confirmed it is “in contact with the player” and is actively monitoring the unfolding matter. Similarly, the players’ union has stated its commitment to “ensure he is supported” throughout this challenging period.
