Shock: Mounjaro Mum's Admission to 'Forgetting to Feed Kids' Horrifies Parents

A recent TikTok post by a mother, who has undergone significant weight loss using the GLP-1 drug Mounjaro, sparked widespread attention and debate after she admitted to sometimes "forgetting to feed" her children. Her candid revelation, made over a series of images with her two children, quickly went viral, stunning many of her followers and the wider internet community.

In her post, the mother initially captioned a picture with her kids, "You're a good mum." Following this, another snap featured the trio again, with the added text: "Thanks. Sometimes I forget to feed them because I'm on Mounjaro." She further elaborated in the caption, "Not easy remembering these little people are hungry." Mounjaro is a GLP-1 injection administered weekly, which functions by suppressing appetite to aid in weight loss.

The TikTok video ignited a fierce discussion in the comments section. A segment of users strongly condemned her remarks, expressing disbelief and disapproval. Comments such as "I can forget a lot but definitely not feeding them" and personal anecdotes like "My son's nana is the same, I now pack him packed lunch when he goes" highlighted the critical stance of some. One commenter even speculated on potential "unintended but good generational benefits" if children's eating habits adjusted, suggesting possible past overfeeding.

However, what proved more surprising was the overwhelming number of people who found the mother's comments incredibly "relatable." The majority of responses offered empathy and shared similar experiences, citing the profound appetite suppression caused by Mounjaro and other GLP-1 medications. Users recounted instances of losing track of meal times for themselves and their dependents. "I don’t feel hungry at all! So meal times are all over the place, I forget they feel hungry!" one person wrote. Another echoed, "My boy said 'mum I’m hungry now' - it was 6pm and he hadn’t had his tea." Even forgetting to feed pets was mentioned, with one user admitting, "Nah I did the same to my cat the other day and found her trying to get into the bin."

Many who related to the mother's struggle shared practical solutions they had adopted. Several individuals mentioned setting "reminder alarms" on their phones to ensure their children were fed. The TikToker herself responded to the widespread relatability with a light-hearted tone, hinting that her post was intended to be less serious by agreeing with a comment that it was "not that deep," and humorously acknowledging the plight of "these poor MJ kiddies" when another mum noted her kids' "treat drawer is terrible since I went on MJ." The post ultimately became a platform for an unexpected, yet widely understood, discussion on the side effects of appetite-suppressing drugs and their impact on daily life.
