Blades fans have publicly criticised a fellow supporter’s mocking of the Sheffield Wednesday captain, who was out with his young family.

Daniel Simpson uploaded the clip, which has gone viral, onto Facebook, with his post captioned: “😂😂😂 he was pissed mug”

The incident, captured on video and shared on social media, showed the fan shouting “We’re all Blades, aren’t we?” and “Up the Blades!” at Bannan, who then hit back by telling the Sheffield United fan to “grow up.”

He comments on his own post: “No kids was hurt or destressed during this video. Like them piggy fans are perfect shit they’ve done and caused ill say it again no harm caused or distress towards the kids or any kids intact could have been worser lol 😉 and everyone who knows me knows I’m a.top lad simple”

Blades fans condemned the behaviour, calling it unacceptable, saying that targeting a player in a personal setting crosses a line.

Daniel Simpson then jumped on the action figure AI trend, posting a photo of Barry Bannan in a Sheffield Wednesday short, crying, with the accessories being pig, bacon and sausages.

As reported by The Star, we also saw Bannan’s wife call out a Sheffield United fan who had allegedly taken a photo of their family out for dinner.
