Bill Belichick is no stranger to controversy. As the longtime head coach of the New England Patriots, he has dealt with Spygate, Deflategate, and countless other rumors. His gruff demeanor made him an easy target for media criticism, often painted as an unfriendly, win-at-all-costs coach.

But now, as the head coach at the University of North Carolina, it’s not Belichick’s playbook making headlines — it’s his personal life. The 73-year-old has been dating 24-year-old Jordan Hudson for over two years. They met when Hudson was allegedly 19, and Belichick was in his late 60s.

Hudson, a former cheerleader and beauty pageant contestant, has acted as Belichick’s manager. She faced fierce backlash from the media and fans when she appeared to interrupt the head coach during an interview with CBS Sports.

Following the controversy, Belichick appeared on The Pivot Podcast to clear the air and clean the media mess. This move, though, did not go down well with everyone.

Belichick downplayed Hudson’s role in his professional life during the podcast appearance, but she was on the field during the final spring practice, as seen on TikTok. He also threw North Carolina under the bus by claiming it didn’t have a proper mechanism to handle PR for the football operation, an explanation he gave for adding Hudson to his emails.

Belichick offered his version of Hudson’s involvement with his current professional life in a controlled setting. The latter guaranteed no follow-up questions and did not press him on potential factual inconsistencies.

It was a one-on-one interview between Belichick and Ryan Clark, with co-host and former NFL player Channing Crowder being left out of the initial portion. During an appearance on his WQAM radio show, Crowder claimed it felt “weird” to be around the couple, which affected how he saw the NFL legend.

“She kind of coordinates and brand manages,” Crowder said, according to NBC. “She has her paws on the situation. It’s different . . . It was weird to be around Belichick and Jordon. . . . I don’t see Belichick in that light. But he just smiles and nods.”

He added, “His old lady is different…She lurks. It’s weird to know him as Coach Belichick running the entire organization as G.M., head coach, talent coordinator, all that stuff, and then to see this tiny, little 95-pound girl kind of — pretty much telling him what to do.”

It’s increasingly looking like Hudson’s role in Belichick’s professional life is getting bigger and bigger with time. Reports surfacing that the couple is “engaged to be married ” will only increase it.
