Shakira Shatters Records: Madrid Concert Becomes Amazon Music Livestreaming Phenomenon

Shakira's October 3 Madrid concert has officially made history, becoming the most-viewed livestream performance by a female artist on Amazon Music to date. The streaming service announced this significant achievement via a press release on Sunday, October 4, following the live broadcast of the Colombian superstar's electrifying performance. The concert was a key component of Shakira’s comprehensive 12-date residency in Spain’s capital, held at the specially constructed Shakira Stadium, as part of her 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour'.

Beyond Shakira's highly anticipated set, which spanned three decades of her illustrious career in Latin music and featured a multitude of her enduring hits, the October 3 concert offered a very special surprise to fans worldwide. British pop sensation Dua Lipa made an unexpected appearance onstage, joining Shakira for an intimate acoustic rendition of 'Antología', a beloved track from Shakira’s iconic 1997 album, 'Pies Descalzos'. Shakira, clearly moved by the moment, expressed her heartfelt sentiment that this duet was 'what this tour was missing'.

Introducing Dua Lipa to the enthusiastic crowd of more than 50,000 fans present, as well as the vast audience watching at home via livestream, Shakira remarked, “For me, it’s an honor and a privilege to sing this song, which means so much to me, with this woman who is so admired and loved around the world.” Viewers were able to catch this unforgettable duet and the entire concert through Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Twitch. Post-show, Dua Lipa took to Instagram to share her excitement, writing in Spanish, “I felt that you, me, and the audience were one. Very grateful to take home such a beautiful memory!!!”

Shakira Stadium itself was a unique, temporary venue, specifically erected within Madrid’s Iberdrola Music complex to host the star's concert residency in the city. This residency commenced on September 18 and is scheduled to conclude with its 12th and final date on October 11. Amazon Music's record-breaking livestream of Saturday night’s Shakira concert also played a pivotal role in launching the streamer’s '2026 Women Shaping Latin Music' campaign, an initiative dedicated to celebrating the influential artists, distinctive sounds, and profound cultural movements that continue to shape Latin music.
