Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy took centre stage at the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final halftime show, delivering a historic performance alongside Colombian music icon Shakira during the 2026 FIFA World Cup final at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The duo performed "Dai Dai," the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking the beginning and end of the tournament after first debuting the anthem at the opening ceremony in Mexico City. FIFA described the performance as one of the defining moments of the inaugural halftime show.
Burna Boy's appearance placed African music at the heart of one of football's biggest global spectacles. The Nigerian Grammy Award winner shared the stage with Shakira, backed by Uganda's Ghetto Kids, as they performed before a worldwide television audience of millions.
