Severe storms by midday in Chicago
Rain is falling in Chicago as the city is under a Level 2 Risk for severe weather.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for Cook, DuPage, and Will counties until 2 p.m., which can result in flooded streets and poor drainage.
The storm window is open until 4 p.m., which can produce damaging winds and cause flooding, as one to three inches of rain are expected in some areas.
Storm chances continue into Saturday night and Sunday, mainly for areas south of Chicago.
Several rounds of storms are possible next week, with torrential rain and localized flash flooding. Dangerous heat also returns by the middle of the week, as heat index values exceed 105 degrees.
