The drama between Evangelist Patricia Asiedu, widely known as Nana Agradaa, and gospel musician Empress Gifty Adorye continues to intensify, as Agradaa has boldly reacted to the GH¢20 million defamation lawsuit filed against her.
In a video sighted by Ameyaw Debrah Media, Agradaa dismissed the legal action with contempt, stressing that she has not been served the lawsuit personally. According to her, the writ being shared on social media does not amount to a proper legal service, and she questioned the courage of the Adoryes for allegedly avoiding direct contact.
“I haven’t received any letter or writ in person. If they have balls, they should serve it to me personally, and we will see where power lies,” she said in the video, appearing unbothered by the legal development.
Agradaa went further to downplay the seriousness of the suit, saying, “Any idiot can go to court,” suggesting that anyone can file a case without necessarily having a strong footing. She also labeled Empress Gifty and her husband Hopeson Adorye as cowards for allegedly relying on social media to circulate the lawsuit instead of following due process.
“If you’re bold, don’t hide behind social media. Come and give it to me yourself,” she dared.
The response comes after Empress Gifty filed a lawsuit on May 20, 2025, demanding GH¢20 million in damages over defamatory comments allegedly made by Agradaa during a live broadcast on Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. The writ, shared by Hopeson Adorye, claimed that Agradaa made false and damaging statements about the gospel singer while attacking her husband on May 13, 2025.
Gifty is also seeking a perpetual injunction to stop Agradaa from making further defamatory remarks, a court order compelling her to take down all such videos from her platforms, and coverage for legal costs. However, Agradaa maintains that the case holds no weight and claims she is even prepared to take the matter to an international court if needed.
As the legal and online confrontation continues, it remains to be seen whether the writ will indeed be served to Agradaa in person—and how far both parties are willing to take the case.
