Sensational 2Baba Family Feud Erupts: IGP Petitioned, Natasha Faces Threats

Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has publicly accused members of his family of severe and repeated interference in his personal life, asserting that their actions contributed to the collapse of his previous marriage to Annie Idibia. Now, he alleges that the same pattern of interference is endangering his current relationship with Natasha Osawaru, an Edo State lawmaker. In an emotional video shared online, the award-winning singer revealed that the situation has escalated dramatically, with Natasha reportedly receiving daily death threats as a direct consequence of the ongoing crisis.
2Baba vehemently stated that his family “destroyed” his marriage with actress Annie Idibia through constant meddling, the spread of false narratives, and internal conflicts. He warns that similar behavior is now being directed against Natasha. The artist stressed his mental soundness, asserting he is not in danger and fully capable of making his own life decisions, thereby dismissing any attempts to portray him as unstable. He expressed deep frustration that those claiming to “save” him are instead causing profound emotional harm, jeopardizing Natasha's safety, and dangerously escalating the entire situation.
The controversy deepened when 2Baba’s family formally petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, urging an investigation into various serious allegations against Natasha. These accusations include bigamy, financial misappropriation, physical assault incidents in both the United Kingdom and Abuja, unauthorized access and transfer of funds from 2Baba’s accounts, seizure of his personal property and travel documents (including his passport), and substance abuse leading to violent behavior. The family claimed Natasha's conduct caused their son significant emotional distress, financial losses, and reputational damage, noting that his personal safety and mental well-being appeared to be at risk.
However, 2Baba, in a video posted on his official Instagram page, unequivocally denied these allegations leveled against Natasha. The “African Queen” star declared that the petition and the surrounding controversies have inflicted deep personal harm on him. He asserted his right to choose his partner, stating, “I’m a grown man, and I believe I have the right to be whoever I want to be.” He accused his family, particularly his brothers, of destroying Natasha’s reputation and putting her in harm's way, reiterating that Natasha is receiving death threats, which he finds unacceptable and unfair.
The singer made a passionate appeal to the public and, critically, to his family, to cease the harassment, stop spreading unverified stories, and allow him and Natasha to live peacefully. He vowed to address the negative narratives circulating about him and Natasha in the coming days, stating he would no longer remain silent as the situation spirals out of control. 2Baba further called for an end to the death threats against Natasha, emphasizing that they are “fine” and that there is nothing wrong with their relationship, pleading with his family to stay out of his private life.
This is not the first instance of public controversy surrounding 2Baba's relationship with Natasha. Previously, the couple was seen engaging in a scuffle during an Instagram Live session hosted by Daddy Freeze. Other troubling incidents include a viral video where the singer was allegedly arrested in the United Kingdom following a reported altercation with Natasha. In another alarming event, 2Baba supposedly shared a post on his Instagram Story reading “Help me,” sparking widespread concern. Furthermore, in February, his family had filed a petition with the State Security Service (SSS), declaring him missing and expressing concerns about his sudden disappearance, suggesting he might have been abducted and that his social media was being used to solicit financial assistance.
The music icon is determined to speak up and reveal more truths about the ongoing situation, acknowledging the concern of his fans but firmly rejecting any portrayal of him as mentally unstable. He maintains that the actions of his family and some former staff members, who have allegedly fabricated lies, are profoundly damaging, stating, “You don’t do stuff like this. This has gone beyond, this is dangerous.”
