Defending champion Paris Basketball (Betclic ELITE ProA) landed experienced 35-year old former French-Senegalese international 205cm power forward Amath M'Baye (college: Oklahoma) for new season. M'Baye has played for the last two years at PBC CSKA Moscow in Russian VTB United League. In 55 games he averaged 10.3ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.5apg last season. He helped them to win the VTB United League championship. M'Baye can count that season as a very successful as was voted to Eurobasket.com VTB United League Third Team.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
M'Baye was also a member of French international program for some years. He played for French Senior National Team between 2018 and 2022 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2009.
M'Baye represented France at the World Cup in China six years ago. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 8 games: 5.8ppg, 1.9rpg, FGP: 58.3%, 3PT: 55.6%, FT: 50.0%.
And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian and of course North American leagues. M'Baye has played previously professionally in Italy (Armani Milano, Brindisi and Virtus Bologna), Japan (Dolphins) and Turkey (Efes and Pinar Karsiyaka).
Among many awards he was selected to Eurobasket.com All-VTB League Honorable Mention in 2024.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Paris.
He graduated from University of Oklahoma in 2013 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball. He played also for University of Wyoming for 2 years.
