Security Forces Decimate Terror Network, Kingpin Apprehended in Kaduna

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, operating under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have successfully dismantled parts of a terrorist network in Kaduna State through a series of intelligence-led operations. These operations, conducted on Wednesday across Kubau, Igabi, and Birnin Gwari Local Government Areas, aimed to disrupt the activities of terrorist groups and their crucial supply chains.
The initial phase of the operation targeted Dabar Dabo, a known terrorist hideout in Kubau LGA. During this raid, security forces apprehended a suspected terrorist kingpin along with two other members of his group. All three suspects were immediately taken into military custody, where they are undergoing further investigation and intelligence gathering to uncover more details about their network and operations.
In a separate and equally significant operation, troops, acting on precise intelligence, intercepted a 50-year-old woman in Igabi LGA. This individual was suspected of being an ammunition courier. A thorough search revealed 300 rounds of ammunition meticulously hidden inside a bag in her possession. Preliminary findings indicated that the suspect had traveled from Zamfara State to Lafia to collect the ammunition, with the intention of delivering it to terrorist elements active in the Birnin Gwari area.
Later on the same day, working in collaboration with a local community vigilante group, the troops apprehended another suspected logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari LGA. A search conducted on this suspect led to the recovery of four communication devices. These devices are believed to be instrumental in facilitating terrorist activities and maintaining their communication lines.
All arrested suspects, including the alleged kingpin, ammunition courier, and logistics supplier, along with the recovered items such as the 300 rounds of ammunition and communication devices, remain in military custody. Investigations are ongoing to fully unravel the extent of their involvement and the broader terrorist networks they support. These coordinated efforts by the Joint Task Force North West highlight their commitment to combating terrorism and enhancing security in the region.
