Search of Governor Addison's home: It's unfair to base discussion on 'secondhand accounts' - Tameklo

He questioned the fairness of the discussion, arguing that much of the information circulating is based on an account by the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, rather than direct testimony from the affected party.

Contributing to discussions on the topic on The KeyPoints with Alfred Ocansey, Tameklo expressed skepticism about the dominant narrative being pushed regarding the operation.

On March 19, operatives of the National Security were reported to have stormed the home of Dr Ernest Addison. They are reported to have ransacked the place and took away cars and CCTV installations.

The Minority Leader, Alex Afenyo-Markin, who visited Dr Addison moments after the incident informed the public that the security officers took away CCTV installations and cars. He further alleged that they “stole an amount of GHC10,000 from Dr Addison’s bed as well as jewelry belonging to his wife.”

In the absence of official information, the narrative has been varied. While some say the security officers went to the house to retrieve a vault full of money, others say they went in search of surveillance equipment.

Mr Tameklo wondered why Dr. Addison himself has not publicly commented on the incident, “yet many are accepting an account from individuals who were not present at the scene.

“Why has Addison not spoken yet?” he queried on March 22.

“The person whose house was raided has not spoken, and nobody has heard from the person. But we are relying on a version of the story from someone who was not there. Where is the fairness in that?”

He argued that the manner in which the issue is being discussed suggests an attempt to frame a particular person, Richard Jakpa, without concrete facts.

Mr Tameklo insisted that any conclusions drawn should be based on verifiable accounts rather than speculation and political narratives.
