Scottie Scheffler Wins US PGA Championship 2025

Scottie Scheffler, the world number one, triumphed at the PGA Championship held at Quail Hollow Club, securing a five-stroke victory and his third major title. Despite facing a strong challenge from Spain’s Jon Rahm, Scheffler managed to hold his lead and finish at 11 under for the week with an even-par 71 on the final day.
Scheffler, who began the day with a three-shot advantage over Sweden’s Alex Noren, acknowledged the difficulty of closing out a major championship. He admitted to not having his “best stuff” early on but improved on the back nine. His victory earned him a $3.42m top prize from a record $19m purse.
Harris English shot a low round of 65, finishing in a share of second place alongside Bryson DeChambeau and Davis Riley. Rahm, who started five shots behind Scheffler, briefly joined Scheffler atop the leaderboard after making three birdies in a four-hole stretch on the back nine. However, Rahm faltered significantly, dropping five shots over his final three holes, ultimately finishing in a share of eighth place.
Rahm expressed his disappointment, stating it was a “tough pill to swallow,” but noted positives from the week. DeChambeau, who finished runner-up at last year’s PGA Championship, struggled with putting despite driving the ball well. He felt he had the game to win but missed crucial putts, fueling his determination for future events.
Noren, who started the day in second place alongside Scheffler, remained competitive until his round deteriorated with three bogeys early on the back nine. Scheffler's ability to recover on the back nine proved decisive, as he added birdies at the 14th and 15th holes, while Rahm's late struggles extended Scheffler's lead to five strokes after Rahm's double-bogey on the 17th due to a tee shot into the water.
