Scandal Unfolds: Police Detain Regina Daniels’ Brother Amid Ned Nwoko’s Explosive Allegations

Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West and brother to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has been charged before an Abuja court by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command. The charges, which include criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, and theft, stem from a petition received by the FCT Metro Area Command on October 28, 2025, against Ojeogwu and three others.

According to SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ojeogwu repeatedly ignored police invitations for questioning. Consequently, an arrest warrant was issued by a competent court, leading to his arrest in Lagos and subsequent transfer to Abuja for further investigation. Following the conclusion of investigations, Ojeogwu was arraigned in court on November 6, 2025, and has since been remanded pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions. The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, due process, and the rule of law in its handling of the case.

Amidst these developments, Regina Daniels has shared emotional videos expressing profound distress over her brother's continued detention, stating she feels like she's “going crazy” and “losing her mind.” This situation coincides with her ongoing marital crisis with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. The actress has previously accused the lawmaker of ordering the arrest of her siblings and even revealed her willingness to return to her marriage if it guarantees Sammy West's release. She also addressed public mockery, explaining that people only flaunt happiness, not sadness or marital abuse.

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has vehemently accused Senator Ned Nwoko and the Nigerian police of collaborating to intimidate Regina Daniels' family. Sowore alleged that following his intervention in Regina’s case, Nwoko and police authorities began threatening her family members, including plans to arrest and imprison Regina’s mother. He condemned what he termed a 'cash and carry' police hierarchy and criticized the 'illegally appointed' IGP Kayode Egbetokun for overseeing such alleged impunities. Sowore further claimed that Nwoko, described as a “criminal billionaire and APC Senator,” used his influence in conjunction with the IGP to unjustly imprison Sammy West at Keffi Prison, later clarified by Regina’s brother Sweezzy to be Suleja Prison in Niger State. Sowore characterized this as an “unholy alliance of impunity” and called for an immediate end to this
