Scandal Erupts: Regina Daniels Alleges Violence, Ned Nwoko Counters with Drug Allegations

A disturbing marital dispute between popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has captivated public attention following a viral video depicting Daniels in distress and alleging domestic violence. The video, which circulated widely on social media platforms, including Instagram, showed Daniels visibly distraught, shouting: “Not again, I can’t stand the violence, it is too much” and declaring: “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen.” She appeared to be on the verge of fainting, surrounded by concerned individuals, including a woman believed to be her sister, and men seemingly ready to intervene, one even holding what appeared to be a stick.
Responding to the allegations, Senator Ned Nwoko released a statement on his social media handles, attributing his wife’s outburst and erratic behavior to drug and alcohol addiction. In his statement, titled “Regina’s Unprovoked Carnage and Rampage in My House and in My Absence,” Nwoko expressed concern for Regina’s life and safety, claiming her substance abuse struggles were the root of their marital problems. He alleged that Regina had been violent, slapping and hitting three staff members and destroying property, including cars and windows. Nwoko stated that he had urged his wife to enter a rehabilitation facility in Asokoro, Abuja, or abroad in Jordan, where she would not have access to drugs. However, he claimed Regina refused and instead relocated to an undisclosed location to easily obtain substances.
The lawmaker also accused two individuals, Sammy (identified as Regina’s brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Danhillman) and a woman named Ann, of supplying drugs to the actress. He cited an incident in which a nurse allegedly exposed Regina’s drug use, leading to chaos at home. Nwoko emphasized that his other wives had never accused him of violence, implying that Regina was the instigator of conflict due to her alleged addiction. He further argued that a “clear-headed Regina would have taken Moon (the couple’s son) to the hospital,” contrasting her behavior with his own actions.
Social media reactions have been divided. While some users supported Nwoko’s claims, recalling prior rumors of Regina’s alleged drug use, others were critical, questioning why Nwoko had waited for a public altercation to address the issue. Some described the situation as a “marriage failure in real-time.” Critics also condemned Nwoko for publicly disclosing his wife’s alleged struggles, calling it a “big low” for a man who claims to love his wife and questioning whether he was seeking public sympathy instead of taking responsibility.
Adding another layer to the controversy, Regina’s brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Danhillman (popularly known as Sammy West), posted an angry message on his Instagram story, directly accusing Senator Nwoko of beating his sister and smashing her head against a wall. He pledged to “fight with my blood” against anyone who beats a woman, asserting: “Senator Ned Nwoko, you get luck say after you beat my sister again, smash her head for wall, you wan comot send thugs! I swear I for burst all your jaw.” This strong counter-accusation from Regina’s brother further escalated the severity of the allegations.
The couple’s union has long been a subject of public scrutiny due to their significant 40-year age gap; Regina was 19 when she married Nwoko, who was 59. Nwoko, a polygamist with six wives, counts Regina as the youngest. This incident follows a lighter moment shared by the actress on her birthday in October, when she posted a story about misplacing and later replacing her wedding ring. Regina Daniels, 25, rose to fame as a child actress and shares two children with Senator Nwoko.
