Sarah Jessica Parker is hoping the powers that be breathe some life into Hocus Pocus 3.
The And Just Like That ... star stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday, July 13, where she gave a long-awaited (albeit brief) update on the previously announced sequel.
Answering a question from a pair of callers asking about the movie — after Disney first announced it as in development two years ago — Parker, 60, said of Hocus Pocus 3, "No more developments, other than we would like to do it."
"We would like to do it, and we've been having some conversations," added the actress, who played Sarah Sanderson opposite onscreen sisters Winifred "Winnie" Sanderson (Bette Midler) and Mary Sanderson (Kathy Najimy) in 1993's Hocus Pocus and the 2022 sequel Hocus Pocus 2.
PEOPLE is out to Disney for comment.
Sean Bailey, president of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, told The New York Times in June 2023 that a third Hocus Pocus film was in development while discussing upcoming live-action projects in the works.
And even before the third film was officially greenlit, the cast had already expressed interest in reprising their iconic roles.
Hocus Pocus 2 screenwriter Jen D'Angelo also told Entertainment Weekly in October 2023 that she was "hoping that we are able to explore every aspect of these stories and take these characters on a bunch of fun adventures."
Added D'Angelo, "3 is still very much in the early stages; we don't really know what it is."
"I want to do right by the fans, and I definitely want to keep in mind what they want to see," she continued, "but at the same time, I feel like movies can go slightly awry when they're only catering to the fans and trying to check off a list, like, 'We got this and this, so the fans should be happy.' Set almost 30 years after the events of the first film, the 2022 sequel sets up the potential for a third film, with the end credits scene teasing the Sanderson sisters' possible return.
Back in Gilbert's Olde Salem Magic Shoppe, the proprietor's black cat Cobweb is seen climbing onto one of the store shelves. As he perches next to a box, the camera zooms in on the label "B.F. CANDLE #2," insinuating there is another Black Flame Candle that could bring the sisters back again.
Speaking with PEOPLE in July 2024, Midler, 79, said she knew a script “should be forthcoming,” though she admitted, “I actually haven't been paying much attention.”
Asked where she’d like to see Winnie's story go, Midler seized on the question to make a quip about her character: “Where I would like Winifred to go, hmm? Well, I think the Hamptons. Winifred in the Hamptons, I could go there. That would be fun."
