The San Antonio Spurs and Center Luke Kornet agreed on a four-year $41 million contract Monday night. He averaged 6 points and 5.3 rebounds during the 2024-25 regular season with the Boston Celtics. It was one of the center’s best seasons in the National Basketball Association. How will he fit with the San Antonio Spurs?

Kornet joins a San Antonio Spurs team that will have lofty expectations heading into the 2025-26 regular season. He will get to play alongside Point Guard De’Aaron Fox, No. 2 overall pick Dylan Harper , and Victor Wembanyama. Kornet will be a crucial part of San Antonio’s bench alongside reigning Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle. San Antonio has improved dramatically, and it is still early in free agency.

The Kornet signing is a shrewd one by the Spurs. He will bring championship pedigree to a San Antonio team looking to break through in a crowded Western Conference.
