Royal Scandal Deepens: New Epstein Files Link Prince Andrew to 'Lolita Express' Flights

The latest release of the Jeffrey Epstein files has unveiled a cascade of damning information, further exposing the disgraced financier's intricate network and its far-reaching implications, particularly for members of the British Royal Family. These revelations have intensified scrutiny on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, often referred to as Prince Andrew, and sparked new police investigations, while also placing significant strain on the relationship between Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and the Prince and Princess of Wales.
One of the most concerning disclosures involves David Stern, a close associate of both Epstein and Prince Andrew. In 2012, Stern advised Epstein to illegally conceal his child sexual abuse conviction to secure a visa for China. Following an initial rejection, Stern instructed Epstein’s assistant to apply at the Chinese embassy in Paris and "not to tick the boxes re being denied previously or criminal charges," though he added the decision was Epstein's. This advice was given amidst discussions between Stern and Epstein, potentially involving "PA" (Prince Andrew), about establishing an investment office in Beijing for "high net worth individuals." Stern had envisioned discreetly involving Prince Andrew to leverage his "aura and access."
The proposed business venture in Asia included two options: launching a new entity called the Serpentine group or utilizing Stern’s existing company, Asia Gateway. Prince Andrew reportedly agreed to the Asia Gateway option. Stern's correspondence with Andrew, which the royal was seemingly aware of, positioned Asia Gateway as an advisory firm aiming to attract Chinese investors to the UK, aligning with Andrew's role as the UK’s special representative for international trade and investment. These documents have prompted Thames Valley police to liaise with prosecutors and examine material related to allegations of "misconduct in public office" by Prince Andrew, specifically claims that he leaked confidential information, including official reports from trade envoy trips, to Epstein. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
The widespread impact of the Epstein files has led British police to establish a new national coordination group, similar to the one formed after the Jimmy Savile scandal, to manage the anticipated "tsunami" of allegations. Chaired by Gold Commander Louisa Rolfe, this group brings together police experts on sexual offending and aims to coordinate operations across multiple forces, including Thames Valley, Surrey Police (assessing another allegation against Andrew), and the Metropolitan Police. The Met is also criminally investigating Peter Mandelson, former British ambassador to the US, for allegedly passing information to Epstein while a Labour government minister. The national group's role includes making formal approaches to the US to obtain unredacted documents, ensuring a comprehensive and independent assessment of the millions of newly released papers.
Further details have emerged regarding the itinerary of Epstein’s private jet, the Boeing 727-100 (serial number N908JE), infamously known as the "Lolita Express," which frequently travelled to and from Britain with suspected sex trafficking victims onboard. A meticulous analysis of flight manifests revealed approximately 90 such flights over two decades into UK airports, including smaller facilities close to royal palaces. The plane’s lavish interior, featuring a double bed and opulent decor, was used for sex acts and orgies. Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown has called for the Metropolitan Police to investigate potential trafficking on British soil.
Epstein's visits to the UK were often intertwined with his royal connections. In 1999, he and Ghislaine Maxwell were guests of Prince Andrew at Balmoral. The following year, in June 2000, they were photographed with Andrew at Royal Ascot, and later joined him for a shooting trip at Sandringham. Flight data confirms a private jet trip for the Sandringham visit, with Epstein’s plane landing at RAF Marham, a short distance from the estate. A notable photo from this period shows Andrew reclining across the legs of five individuals inside Sandringham House, with Maxwell peering down at him.
A pivotal UK visit occurred in March 2001, when Epstein and Maxwell flew 17-year-old Virginia Roberts (later Giuffre) to London. During this trip, Ms. Giuffre alleged that Prince Andrew had sex with her at Maxwell’s London mews flat. The infamous photograph of Andrew with his arm around Ms. Giuffre’s waist, with Maxwell smiling in the background, was taken then, and emails from Maxwell later confirmed its authenticity. Andrew, in his controversial 2019 Newsnight interview, had questioned the photo's legitimacy but strenuously denied any sexual contact with her.
Other high-profile UK associations included Epstein’s meeting with Prime Minister Tony Blair in May 2002, facilitated by Peter Mandelson. Later that year, in September, Maxwell, accompanied by Bill Clinton and actor Kevin Spacey, enjoyed a private tour of Buckingham Palace, arranged by Prince Andrew. Photographs from this visit show Maxwell and Spacey sitting on royal thrones. Epstein, though not present, had loaned his private jet for this humanitarian trip.
Perhaps one of the most glaring examples of Epstein’s unchecked access was his attendance at Princess Beatrice’s 18th birthday masked ball at Royal Lodge in July 2006. He arrived via his private jet, accompanied by Maxwell and convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein, just eight days before his arrest for child sex offenses. Andrew later claimed he was unaware of the arrest warrant when the invitation was issued.
The ripple effects of these revelations have significantly impacted Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. The files have exacerbated an already uneasy relationship with Prince William and Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales, who reportedly lack closeness with the sisters. William is closely monitoring the ongoing disclosures, evaluating Beatrice and Eugenie’s future roles within the Firm, especially given Kate’s "frosty" relationship with them and Eugenie’s perceived closeness to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Royal sources indicate William has no intention of them becoming taxpayer-funded working royals.
Questions have intensified regarding the princesses' knowledge of their parents' dealings with Epstein. Astonishingly, it emerged that Princess Beatrice actively advised her mother, Sarah Ferguson (Fergie), on how to placate Epstein. After Fergie called Epstein a paedophile in a 2011 interview while apologizing for accepting a £15,000 bailout, Beatrice reportedly agreed that it was "important" to brief the press that Epstein had "done his penance" and was "moving on with his life." Fergie's emails further show her desperate attempts to regain Epstein's favor, calling him a "supreme friend" and even proposing marriage, despite having met him at his Palm Beach mansion with her daughters in tow.
Princess Beatrice’s involvement extends to her father’s "catastrophic" 2019 Newsnight interview. She attended negotiation and pre-production meetings, and famously became Andrew’s "alibi" for his disputed Pizza Express claim on the night he allegedly had sex with Ms. Giuffre. Royal commentators suggest Beatrice's support for this interview is "absolutely cataclysmic" for any hopes she might have of retaining official royal duties when William ascends the throne. While King Charles reportedly wishes to support his nieces, Prince William may hold a different, stricter perspective given the fresh revelations.
Body language experts have noted Prince William's apparent discomfort around his cousins and uncle. He has been observed using his scarf as an "avoidance mechanism" during "awkward" royal encounters, such as with Eugenie at Christmas or Andrew at a funeral. Sources close to Beatrice and Eugenie reveal they are "appalled," "embarrassed," and "mortified" by the content of their mother’s sycophantic emails and the extent of their parents' association with Epstein, suggesting they were previously unaware of the full scope. Despite their maturation into "intelligent, polite women," a royal insider claims their "rarefied" upbringing may have instilled a sense of entitlement, and their father introduced them to "shady people." The ongoing drip-feed of these files poses an immense challenge to their position within the Royal Family.
