Royal Rift Deepens: Kate Middleton's Silence Sparks Speculation on Prince Harry's Return

The relationship within the British Royal Family continues to navigate complexities, with Prince Harry reportedly making strides in mending ties with his father, King Charles, during a recent visit. Their face-to-face meeting at Clarence House, the first in 19 months, lasted 54 minutes, signaling a cautious step towards reconciliation. However, the Duke of Sussex's relations with his brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Princess Kate, remain notably strained.
A significant indicator of this ongoing frosty atmosphere was the public silence from the Prince and Princess of Wales on Prince Harry's 41st birthday, which occurred on September 15. This lack of public acknowledgement stands in stark contrast to previous years, including his 40th birthday, when King Charles, William, and Kate all extended their well-wishes via official royal social media channels.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe suggests that this noticeable silence serves as a deliberate, albeit subtle, message from William and Kate. Due to strict royal protocol, the couple is unable to publicly address the rift with Prince Harry and Meghan. Instead, their silence speaks volumes, indicating their reluctance to overlook past grievances and signaling that the onus for reconciliation now rests with Harry.
Despite this, Prince Harry has expressed a desire to bring his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK for visits, hoping to foster a closer bond with their British relatives. Larcombe, however, notes that Harry has not publicly demonstrated concrete steps toward reconciling with William and Kate, suggesting a gap between his stated desires and his actions.
Meghan Markle, on the other hand, appears to be less inclined towards reconciliation with the Royal Family, according to Larcombe. She is reportedly focused on her career and living her dream, showing no signs of caring about the opinions of Kate and William, existing within her 'Meghan bubble.'
While some speculate that the silence surrounding Harry's 41st birthday might be due to it not being a significant milestone or the royals being preoccupied with Donald Trump's visit, Larcombe firmly believes it reflects William and Kate's struggle to move past past accusations. This, coupled with the fact that the brothers did not reunite during Harry's recent four-day UK visit, further emphasizes the deep-seated nature of the ongoing royal rift.
