Rosalía's Wild Night: Pop Star's 'LUX' Tattoo & Pozole Party with Latin Mafia in Mexico City

Spanish superstar Rosalía recently made a highly anticipated return to Mexico City, where she hosted an exclusive listening session for her upcoming album, LUX, on a Wednesday night (October 29) with a select group of dedicated fans. Her visit transformed into a rich culinary and cultural immersion, featuring an array of popular Mexican dishes and a vibrant night of celebration alongside her friends, the members of the acclaimed Mexican band Latin Mafia.
Rosalía extensively documented her memorable trip, sharing the experience with her millions of followers through TikTok Live. She showcased herself and her friends riding in a limousine through the bustling streets of Mexico’s capital before arriving at a branch of a renowned pozole restaurant chain. It was there that she savored the iconic Mexican dish for the very first time. Pozole, a hearty broth made with corn kernels, chicken or pork, and chili, traditionally topped with crisp lettuce, left a strong impression. Additionally, she delighted in enfrijoladas, which are tortillas dipped in a flavorful bean sauce and generously filled with shredded chicken.
A viral video captured Rosalía's reaction to tasting pozole, where she exclaimed, “First time eating pozole, guys!” She then humorously added, “It’s tricky — it’s spicy,” pulling classic expressions associated with experiencing spicy food. The unexpected appearance of the “Motomami” singer at the restaurant also led to numerous videos from surprised diners, which quickly spread across social media.
The Spanish superstar’s evening in Mexico City continued with a stop at an authentic Mexican cantina. Here, she and Latin Mafia enjoyed drinks and were entertained by captivating drag performances, including numbers dedicated to legendary Mexican artists Juan Gabriel and Jenni Rivera. Rosalía also received a deeply symbolic gift: a necklace featuring a pendant of the iconic Virgin of Guadalupe, the revered Patron Saint of Mexico and Latin America, presented to her by one of the members of the pop trio.
The night culminated in a unique artistic gesture as Rosalía herself gave a tattoo to Milton de la Rosa, one of the singers from Latin Mafia. The tattoo featured the title of her new album, LUX, immortalizing the moment. Her presence in Mexico was part of a series of worldwide listening parties for LUX, her eagerly awaited fourth studio album, which is scheduled for release on November 7. Rosalía has revealed that the LP is profoundly “inspired by holy women from around the world.” The album’s first single, “Berghain,” a cutting-edge track featuring collaborations with Björk and Yves Tumor, had been released earlier on October 27, building anticipation for the full album.
