RHONJ's Dolores Catania Reveals Her Goal Weight With GLP-1 | Us Weekly
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is breaking down her brief pause from weight loss medication — and why she’s now choosing to restart her journey.
“I was gaining weight,” Catania, 54, exclusively told Us Weekly, while promoting her partnership with Advanced Herbals. “I gained weight from eating out of anxiety for the procedure. That’s like my comfort thing, is food. I’m Italian; food cures everything — and a lot of it, not a little bit of it.”
Catania shared in June that she stopped using weight loss medications “for a month,” revealing that her Mounjaro “stopped working” and she gained 20 lbs. She also said that she paused the medication to undergo a “cardiac ablation,” which is a treatment for irregular heartbeats.
The Bravo star explained that she feels “so much better all around” when she’s on GLP-1, as long as she’s not nauseous — which Advanced Herbals’ ginger chews help combat. “I’m on a much lower dose, and it’s managing my weight as well as everything else,” she added.
As she returns to GLP-1, Catania noted that she has a target weight loss goal. “I would just like to get to a weight and maintain it, a good weight, now that I’m back on,” she said. “So I’m thinking 130, 135 lbs. Right now I’m at 145 lbs, so I’m not far.”
While Catania experienced nausea during her first go-round — and even would run out of parties, “throwing up in the parking lot,” she now has tools to help with the side effects.

“Anybody on a GLP-1 who suffers from the nausea side effect, this is your starter kit. The Advanced Herbals ginger chews by Dramamine. They helped me so much,” she explained. “Now that I’m back on [GLP-1], I’m starting with the side effects, but this time I have my little soldier I call it, that fights the nausea. The ginger chews are a game changer.”
She’s also now partnered with Advanced Herbals to debut a new content series, The Dish on GLP-1s.
“It’s a fabulous invention. It’s going to help you in your GLP-1 journey,” she said of the Advanced Herbals ginger chews. “It’s going to help you stay on it. It’s just going to help you with the nausea so much that you’ll be able to get past the hump of this side effect. It does eventually subside because you learn what not to eat, how much to eat. … Now you can take this. As long as you have your ginger chew, you’ll get past it. It’s tolerable.”
