Red Carpet Royalty: Wunmi Mosaku's Stunning Baby Bump Fashion Steals the Show

British-Nigerian actress Wunmi Mosaku has captivated audiences and fashion enthusiasts alike during the 2026 awards season, not only for her acclaimed performances but also for gracefully showcasing her second pregnancy. After successfully keeping her first pregnancy private in 2024, Mosaku chose a different approach for her second, making a global announcement at the 2026 Golden Globes in January.
Her radiant reveal took place on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton, where she appeared in a custom, sunshine-yellow Matthew Reisman gown. Alongside this public debut, Mosaku shared a deeply personal essay with Vogue, explaining her decision: “In my Nigerian culture, we don’t really announce this kind of news. It’s meant to be protected… I’ve decided to stop trying to camouflage my bump today at the Golden Globes, so me and baby can truly enjoy and embrace the moment fully together.” This statement resonated widely, highlighting her blend of cultural respect and personal empowerment.
Following her golden debut, Mosaku embarked on a sartorial winning streak, consistently selecting custom gowns that celebrated both her rich heritage and her evolving silhouette. At the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Honours, she exuded an elegant “Iyadé” energy in a breathtaking, floor-length red gown by Nigerian designer Sisiano. The fluid movement and draped design of the dress perfectly encapsulated this spirit.
The momentum continued at the BAFTAs, where Mosaku, acclaimed for her role in Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners,” collected the Best Supporting Actress trophy. For this significant occasion, she wore a stunning royal blue fringed Ahluwalia gown, a thoughtful fusion that paid homage to her British and Nigerian roots.
Her appearances continued to impress, notably at the 57th NAACP Image Awards. Here, Mosaku opted for a structured, high-fashion blush and burgundy Christian Siriano gown, demonstrating that maternity style could be at the forefront of prestigious editorial stages without compromise. She concluded her primary awards circuit at the 32nd Actor Awards in a custom red Louis Vuitton gown with exaggerated off-the-shoulder sleeves and a train, embodying classic, understated luxury.
Despite the glamour, Mosaku remained candid about the realities of pregnancy. In an interview with Extra, she admitted, “It’s so hard. It’s exhausting… The exhaustion, you just want to say, ‘I need some support…’ But you’re meant to like just pretend everything’s okay. It’s so hard.” In response to these challenges, she founded a new clothing line, Iyadé, a Yoruba term meaning “Mother has arrived.” The brand is dedicated to providing comfort and dignity for mothers during their transitional journey.
Between securing significant awards like the BAFTA and NAACP Image Awards and gracefully navigating the public eye with her pregnancy, Wunmi Mosaku has truly exemplified how to embrace major life milestones with profound grace and unwavering style. As she awaits the safe arrival of her child, she humbly asks for prayers for a safe delivery and recovery.
