Razzie Shocker! 'Snow White' and Ice Cube's 'War of the Worlds' Dominate Worst Picture Nods, The Weeknd Slated as Worst Actor Contender

The 46th annual Golden Raspberry Awards, known for recognizing what its members consider the worst films of the year, has officially announced its nominations. Leading the charge with six nods apiece are the live-action adaptation of “Snow White” and Ice Cube’s “War of the Worlds,” setting the stage for a critical assessment of cinematic disappointments.
For the coveted Worst Picture category, five films are vying for the undesirable title: “The Electric State,” “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” “Snow White” (2025), “Star Trek: Section 31,” and “War of the Worlds” (2025). These films represent the pinnacle of what the Razzie voters deemed the most egregious cinematic offerings.
In the acting categories, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye garnered a Worst Actor nomination for his portrayal of a fictionalized version of himself in “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” a film that accumulated five Razzie nominations overall. Tesfaye faces stiff competition from Dave Bautista (“In the Lost Lands”), Ice Cube (“War of the Worlds”), Scott Eastwood (“Alarum”), and Jared Leto (“Tron: Ares”). The Worst Actress nominees feature an equally prominent list of performers, including Ariana DeBose (“Love Hurts”), Milla Jovovich (“In the Lost Lands”), Natalie Portman (“Fountain of Youth”), Rebel Wilson (“Bride Hard”), and Michelle Yeoh (“Star Trek: Section 31”).
The unique Worst Screen Combo category highlights some memorable pairings: All Seven Dwarfs from the live-action “Snow White,” James Corden and Rihanna in 2025’s “Smurfs,” Ice Cube and his Zoom Camera in “War of the Worlds” (2025), Robert DeNiro & Robert DeNiro (as Frank & Vito) in “The Alto Knights,” and The Weeknd & His Colossal Ego in “Hurry Up Tomorrow.”
Additional nominations span various categories, reflecting a comprehensive look at the year's cinematic missteps. For Worst Remake/Rip-Off/Sequel, the nominees include “I Know What You Did Last Summer” (2025), “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2,” “Smurfs” (2025), “Snow White” (2025), and “War of the Worlds” (2025). The Worst Supporting Actress category sees nominations for Anna Chlumsky (“Bride Hard”), Ema Horvath (“The Strangers: Chapter 2”), Scarlet Rose Stallone (“Gunslingers”), Kacey Rohl (“Star Trek: Section 31”), and Isis Valverde (“Alarum”). Meanwhile, Worst Supporting Actor nominees are All Seven Artificial Dwarfs (“Snow White” 2025), Nicolas Cage (“Gunslingers”), Stephen Dorff (“Bride Hard”), Greg Kinnear (“Off the Grid”), and Sylvester Stallone (“Alarum”).
The directors who found themselves nominated for Worst Director are Rich Lee (“War of the Worlds” 2025), Olatunde Osunsanmi (“Star Trek: Section 31”), The Russo Brothers (“The Electric State”), Trey Edward Shults (“Hurry Up Tomorrow”), and Marc Webb (“Snow White” 2025). Finally, the screenplays deemed least effective include “The Electric State” (by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely), “Hurry Up Tomorrow” (by Trey Edward Shults, Abel Tesfaye, Reza Fahim), “Snow White” (2025, by Erin Cressida Wilson and others, drawing from the Brothers Grimm), “Star Trek: Section 31” (by Craig Sweeny with story concept by Bo Yeon Kim & Erika Lippoldt), and “War of the Worlds” (2025, screen story/screenplay by Kenny Golde, screenplay by Marc Hyman, adapting H.G. Wells).
The winners of the 46th annual Razzies are scheduled to be revealed on March 14.
