Ray J's Thanksgiving Turmoil: Alleged Gun Incident Rocks Livestream!

William Ray Norwood Jr., widely known as Ray J, was reportedly arrested on Thursday, November 27, after an alleged incident involving his ex-wife, Princess Love. The 44-year-old singer was taken into custody by Los Angeles police and subsequently charged with making a criminal threat. The arrest followed reports of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence. Officers responded to the scene, and Ray J, the younger brother of renowned singer Brandy, was booked at the LAPD’s Van Nuys Station. He was later released on a $50,000 bond, according to jail records.
The alleged confrontation, which reportedly occurred on Thanksgiving, was livestreamed and captured on video footage published by TMZ. The clip appears to show Ray J engaged in a heated argument with Princess Love, 41, primarily concerning the custody of their two children, daughter Melody Love, 7, and son Epik Ray, 5. During the edited footage, Ray J allegedly brandishes a gun, prompting Love, who was holding one of their children at the time, to state, “You just pointed a gun at me.” Ray J, however, denies the accusation of pointing a firearm. The livestream reportedly began with Ray J expressing his distress, claiming it was “the worst Thanksgiving in the f—king world.” Furthermore, the video is said to show him holding a gun and uttering a threat, stating, “If these n—s step foot close to this door I’m going to blow this f—king s—t away, bro.”
Ray J and Princess Love share a history that includes starring together on the popular VH1 reality series, Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, which aired from 2014 to 2019. The couple married in 2016, but their relationship has been tumultuous, with Princess Love filing for divorce for the fourth time in 2024, as reported by People magazine. Their custody dispute appears to be an ongoing point of contention.
Beyond this recent domestic incident, Ray J has also been in the news for other legal matters. He recently filed a countersuit against Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner. In this countersuit, he alleges that they intentionally released the sex tape featuring him and Kim Kardashian, which played a significant role in launching Kim’s career. He further claims that they then “peddled the false story” that the tape was leaked, implying a calculated effort to control the narrative surrounding its release.
