Rapper-singer Rod Wave, whose real name is Rodarius Green, was arrested by the Atlanta Police Department on Friday, November 7, facing multiple weapon and drug charges. The 27-year-old artist was taken into custody in Fulton County, Georgia. Charges include possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, reckless driving, possession of a Schedule V controlled substance, and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Green was booked into Fulton County Jail and remained in custody as of Saturday morning following his arrest.
In a statement issued Saturday evening, Rod Wave’s attorney, Drew Findling of Findling Law Firm, asserted that Green was “unjustly profiled and unlawfully arrested in Atlanta” on November 7, the same day he reportedly earned a Grammy nomination. Findling highlighted that the arresting officer is part of the Atlanta Police Department’s controversial Crime Suppression Unit, a group he described as known for aggressive tactics and prioritizing high arrest numbers over genuine public safety. The attorney stated that Green was targeted as part of a
