Rap Icon Eminem Takes Charge: To Executive Produce Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Halftime Spectacle

Hip-hop icon Eminem and his longtime manager, Paul Rosenberg, have officially forged a multi-year partnership with the Detroit Lions. This collaboration designates them as executive producers for the highly anticipated Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Halftime Show, a significant annual event in the NFL calendar. The announcement was made on Thursday, November 13, confirming that Slim Shady and Rosenberg will serve as consultants to the franchise. Their role will encompass all facets of the Halftime Show's production and presentation, including the crucial task of talent selection, for the years 2025 through 2027.
Paul Rosenberg expressed his enthusiasm for the venture, stating, "It's an honor for us to team up with the Lions and be a part of the greatest tradition in Detroit sports." He further added their commitment to delivering "unforgettable shows featuring world-class artists for the fans at Ford Field and the tens of millions watching around the country." The production company Jesse Collins Entertainment is slated to produce the Halftime Show, ensuring a high-quality presentation.
In previous years, the Detroit Lions' Thanksgiving Halftime Show has featured prominent artists such as Shaboozey, Jack Harlow, and Big Sean as headlining performers, setting a high standard for future acts. Detroit Lions president and CEO Rod Wood underscored the significance of this partnership, noting, "We're thrilled to be working with Marshall and Paul, who are two of the most accomplished and respected names in the music industry, not to mention longtime Lions fans." Wood is confident that their esteemed reputation in the entertainment business will be instrumental in attracting top-tier talent, thereby solidifying this annual performance as one of the most anticipated cultural moments on the NFL schedule.
Following the announcement, many fans took to social media, expressing their hopes that Eminem himself might take the stage for a performance at an upcoming game. While no specific announcement has been made regarding the talent for the 2025 Halftime Show at Ford Field, it has been confirmed that the hometown Lions will host their NFC North division rival, the Green Bay Packers, in the traditional Thanksgiving Day showdown. Kick-off for this highly anticipated game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
