Raining treys: Brex barrage breaks decade record | FIBA Basketball

Published 3 days ago2 minute read

DUBAI (United Arab Emirates) - Utsunomiya Brex just rewrote the record books - and they did it with fire from beyond the arc.

In their 93-71 Semi-Final victory over the Broncos at BCL Asia 2025, Brex drilled 19 three-pointers, the most ever in a single game in the past 10 years in BCL Asia.

The B.League champions came out guns blazing, connecting on 7 triples in the first quarter alone, setting the tone for a wire-to-wire win that not only earned them a ticket to the Final - but also solidified their spot in Asian club basketball lore.

Previously, the record stood at 18 three-pointers, shared by Lebanon's Al Riyadi (2024 Final vs Shabab Al Ahli) and Qatar’s Al Rayyan (2016 vs ONGC). Brex’s total of 19 from 46 attempts now stands alone at the top.

DJ Newbill led the way with seven three-pointers for 35 points, tied for second most by a player in a single game in the past decade as well. Finn Delany and Shinji Takashima both chipped in three three-pointers each, while Makoto Hiejima, Yusuke Endo, and Seiji Ikaruga each knocked down two triples.

What makes this feat even more impressive? Brex had already tied the season-high mark of 13 triples three times earlier this tournament - against Tabiat, Meralco Bolts, and Shabab Al Ahli. But this time, they left no doubt about their identity as BCL Asia’s premier perimeter threat.

With Brex blazing, one thing's for sure: if they’re left open, records and three-pointers will fall - and opponents might too.
