Queen of Charts: Taylor Swift's 'Ophelia' Reigns for Sixth Week!

The U.K.’s Official Singles Chart continues to be dominated by pop superstar Taylor Swift, who has secured her sixth non-consecutive week at the No. 1 spot with her hit single “The Fate of Ophelia.” This track, featured on her 12th studio album “The Life of a Showgirl,” initially claimed the top position on October 10 and held it for three consecutive weeks. After a brief interruption by KPop Demon Hunters’ “Golden,” Swift reclaimed the No. 1 ranking on November 28 and has maintained her lead since.
Beyond Swift's continued success, other prominent figures in British pop have also made significant strides on the chart this week. RAYE achieved a personal best with “Where Is My Husband!,” which soared to a new peak at No. 2. Following closely behind, Olivia Dean broke into the top three for the first time with her track “So Easy (To Fall In Love).” Dean showcased a remarkable performance by also securing two other spots within the top five: “Man I Need” at No. 4 and the collaboration with Sam Fender, “Rein Me In,” at No. 5. Furthermore, another song from her album “The Art Of Loving LP,” titled “Let Alone the One You Love,” debuted on the chart at No. 21.
The soundtrack for the recently released film “Wicked: For Good” made a notable impact on the charts, with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande earning this week’s highest new entry. Their emotional duet, “For Good,” debuted at No. 14, marking it as a significant highlight. Two additional tracks from the film’s soundtrack also entered the top 40: “No Good Deed” at No. 17 and “As Long As You’re Mine” at No. 29, demonstrating the film's musical influence.
Adding an element of intrigue to the chart, the balaclava-clad artist EsDeeKid, who is at the center of fan speculation regarding a secret identity, made a substantial entry. Despite rumors linking him to actor Timothée Chalamet, EsDeeKid successfully landed his first top 10 hit with “Century” at No. 10. His collaboration with Rico Ace, “Phantom,” followed closely at No. 12, while another track, “4 Raws,” secured the No. 27 position. These new entries highlight a dynamic and diverse week on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, reflecting both enduring popularity and fresh talent.
