Purdue Reveals Major News After Braden Smith Announcement
The Purdue Boilermakers continue to produce some of the best talent in college basketball year by year.
Before this season, it was Zach Edey who dominated the Big Ten. Edey capped off his college basketball career with the Boilermakers earning two National Player of the Year honors.
Now, it was Braden Smith's turn. Purdue's star point guard was listed as a finalist for the Naismith National Player of the Year award after a phenomenal season with the Boilermakers.
While he was unsuccessful in winning the prestigious award, Smith joined some great company in Purdue history, having been named an All-American during the 2024-25 college basketball season.
Smith joined Jaden Ivey and Carsen Edwards as consensus All-American guards who have represented Purdue. The Boilermakers now have the most consensus All-American guards of any program in the nation over the past seven years.
"Guard U," posted the official social media account of the Purdue Boilermakers.
