PSG has defeated Real Madrid at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium by a final score of 4-0. This FIFA 2025 Club World Cup semi final results means PSG will now face Chelsea in the final.

It’s no exaggeration. PSG thrashed Madrid at MetLife Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. The Parisian side had a 2-0 lead after 10 minutes thanks to two dreadful errors from the Real Madrid defence.

Player of the game Fabián Ruiz scored either side of a tidy one-on-one finish from Ballon d’Or candidate Ousmane Dembélé. PSG led 3-0 at half time, virtually out of sight. Celebrations from the Paris bench also suggested that it meant a lot to this team; who is on the verge of winning a fourth major trophy this season.

In the second period the Frenchmen made a host of changes, went down the gears and still caused Madrid more issues than they conceded. A 4-0 victory was a fair reflection of an easy day at the office for Luis Enrique and his exceptionally talented group of players. From a Real Madrid point of view, two early goals given away in such poor fashion made it a difficult game to even analyse for the Spanish club.

It’s a deserved final for PSG; a team that has been a joy to watch and has been the best on the planet by some distance in 2025. Vitinha and João Neves are turbocharged engines in the middle of the park. Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi are the most menacing full-backs on the planet at the moment, and Désiré Doué floats across the park like he is wearing the winged sandals of Hermes.

Chelsea awaits PSG in a London Vs Paris Club World Cup final this weekend. The winner of which will earn the right to wear a big golden badge on the middle of its jersey for the next four years as FIFA intends to make this tournament a mainstay in top level club football.

Cole Palmer and Chelsea have grown into this tournament and the arrival of an inspired João Pedro hasn’t hurt the ‘Blues’ progress either. In the grand scheme of things Chelsea have enjoyed a favourable run to the final despite a good battle with Palmeiras in the quarter finals.

On Tuesday Chelsea defeated Fluminense in the semi finals with relative ease. This also means that the English side has one more rest day before the final. It’s a small but significant advantage that the Premier League club will need coming up against a side as dominant and in-form as PSG.
