Prime Video Confirms March Release for ‘House of David’ Season 2 Amid Controversy

Prime Video and Wonder Project have announced that Season 2 of their biblical drama House of David will premiere globally on March 27, 2026, with all episodes available for streaming at once.
The series’ debut captivated over 40 million viewers worldwide, establishing its broad appeal and international audience.
Season 2 explores Israel on the brink of collapse, with King Saul’s authority weakening and a power vacuum destabilizing the kingdom.
David continues his rise from shepherd to warrior, navigating loyalty, destiny, and the shifting dynamics of the Age of Iron.
Themes of fractured families, forbidden love, and political intrigue intertwine with faith and prophecy, shaping the fate of Israel.
Returning cast members include Michael Iskander as David, Ali Suliman as King Saul, Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam, and Stephen Lang as Samuel.
The ensemble is further strengthened by Indy Lewis, Yali Topol Margalith, Ethan Kai, Sam Otto, Oded Fehr, Louis Ferreira, Davood Ghadami, Ashraf Barhom, and Alexander Uloom, expanding the series’ political and spiritual landscape.
The series is executive produced by Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn of Wonder Project, alongside Jonathan Lloyd Walker, Justin Rosenblatt, Chad Oakes, Michael Frislev, Trey Callaway, and Mark McNair.
Dallas Jenkins, Creator of The Chosen, serves as a shareholder and special advisor.
Production is handled by Nomadic Pictures and Argonauts in association with Wonder Project, Amazon MGM Studios, Kingdom Story Company, and Lionsgate Television. Season 1 is already available on Prime Video for viewers to catch up ahead of the new season.
Critics highlight House of David’s cinematic approach to biblical storytelling, noting its epic battles, palace intrigue, and complex characters.
While some reviews suggest the series could deepen character development and individual story arcs, it is recognized as a meaningful advancement in faith-based entertainment, with the potential to reach audiences beyond traditional religious programming.
