President Tinubu Inaugurates 60MW Gas Plant and Major Infrastructure Projects in Bayelsa

Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited Bayelsa State where he was received by large crowds alongside dignitaries including former President Goodluck Jonathan.

During the visit, several development projects were inaugurated, including a 60-megawatt independent gas-powered turbine at Elebele, aimed at boosting industrialisation, skills development, and economic growth through improved power supply.

Other commissioned infrastructure included the Sagbama–Ekeremor Road, the dualised 2.9-kilometre New Yenagoa City Road, and the Yenagoa–Oporoma–Ukubie Road.

A major highlight was the completion of the 630-metre Angiama–Oporoma Bridge, a long-abandoned project promised over six decades ago.

The bridge is expected to benefit more than 60 communities across Southern Ijaw and Brass local government areas by reducing travel time and transportation costs while improving connectivity.

The visit also featured a stakeholder meeting at the Bayelsa Government House, where development collaboration, economic reforms, and security support were discussed.

The projects, implemented under the administration of Douye Diri, are expected to stimulate economic activity, improve infrastructure, strengthen energy supply, and enhance the overall socioeconomic conditions across Bayelsa State.
