Prep coach Scott Campbell added to Troy Basketball Staff

Published 1 week ago1 minute read

According to a report from The Messenger, the Troy University men’s basketball program has added Scott Campbell as an assistant coach. Campbell, a veteran with nearly 30 years of high school and prep coaching experience, is the father of current Troy players Cobi and Cooper Campbell.

A Washington native and former player at Seattle Pacific University, Campbell built a respected coaching résumé at several high schools and prep programs, most recently leading the PHH Prep girls team to a state title and earning National Coach of the Year honors. His relationship with Troy head coach Scott Cross began years ago and grew organically, eventually leading to the recruitment of Cooper and, now, Campbell’s addition to the coaching staff.

Campbell called the opportunity to coach at Troy — and alongside his sons — a dream come true. He expressed deep admiration for Coach Cross and said the chance to work at the collegiate level while being involved in his sons’ careers was too good to pass up. Cross, in turn, praised Campbell’s energy, offensive mind, and coaching instincts, saying he fits seamlessly with the Troy staff.
