Premier League Drama: Wolves Face Devastating Relegation After West Ham, Crystal Palace Stalemate

Wolverhampton Wanderers have officially been relegated from the Premier League, marking the end of their eight-season tenure in England's top football division. The club's fate was sealed following West Ham United's goalless draw against Crystal Palace on Monday, which mathematically confirmed Wolves' demotion to the Championship.

Currently, Rob Edwards' side sits with a meager 17 points after 33 games played, reflecting a challenging season. The campaign began under the management of Vítor Pereira, but the Portuguese coach was dismissed in November of last year due to poor performance. He was subsequently replaced by Rob Edwards, who previously managed Luton Town and Middlesbrough.

Ironically, Pereira is now with Nottingham Forest, a team also battling relegation, though recent results have offered them a glimmer of hope towards securing safety. For Wolves, it has been a particularly arduous season in the Premier League, characterized by a significant struggle to secure victories. Their first win of the season did not come until January, and since then, they have managed only two more wins. However, these two victories were notable, coming against European spot-chasing teams, Aston Villa and Liverpool.

This relegation means that the West Midlands club will return to the Championship, a league they last competed in during the 2017/18 season.
