Pray for your leaders even if you don't agree with them - Kindiki

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged Kenyans to pray for their leaders, even if they disagree with their views.
Speaking on Sunday during a Church Service at AIC Nairagie Enkare in Narok East, Narok County, Kindiki insisted that it is only right to pray for their success.
He went on to say that the failure of a leader is the failure of the people he represents and the country.
“Pray for your leaders to succeed because if they succeed, the country will succeed; if they fail, the country fails. You don't have to agree with your leaders, but please pray for them. If they are not suitable, you will have the opportunity to look for other leaders tomorrow. It is the foolish who will pray for the leaders and the country to fail,” the Deputy President said.
He noted it is not mandatory to agree with the government’s policies or decisions, but also unpatriotic to pray for the failure of their leaders.
Kindiki urged all to love their country and jealously guard it against political strife and disunity propagated by those keen to destabilise the country.
“We must love Kenya because it is our country. This is where God put all of us. Let us be patriotic,” he said.
The Deputy President also reiterated that Kenya will be a land of growth and success, not failure, as falsely predicted by some prophets of doom.
“Kenya will not fail. Without fear of contradiction, we have learnt painful lessons in the past, and we have learned what negative ethnicity can do to a country. We will not go back,” Kindiki stated.
He added that the administration remains focused on delivering its agenda and promises, even as he called Kenyans to actively contribute to efforts to make the nation a better place than before.
He was accompanied by several leaders from the county.
