Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has told off critics of the Kenya Kwanza administration who have been going around the country saying that it is a one-term government.

Speaking during a Church Service at AIC Nairagie Enkare in Narok East, Narok County, Kindiki said that only God knows the plans of tomorrow.

He went on to say that at the moment, leaders must continue to do what they must for their constituents.

The DP said that even those pushing the one-term agenda do not know where they will be tomorrow.

Kindiki asked what they will do, should God decide that President William Ruto serve for two terms as the leader of Kenya.

“People are here disturbing us, sijui nani ako na term ngapi. Mambo ya kesho ni Mungu tu anajua. For now, let us do what we must do. Tomorrow, whatever God will allow, we will agree with the decision. Not even you know where you will be. If God decides William Ruto will serve for 10 years, what will you do? Give us a break,” he said.

The Deputy President also criticised leaders, especially from the opposition, who go to church to politic instead of worshipping.

He thanked the leaders in Narok for sticking to development issues as they made their remarks after the Thanksgiving service.

“We do not want to mix church affairs with politics. If it's development, then that's fine. If you want to politic, go to the market and make noise there.”

Opposition leaders led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have been going around holding meetings claiming that the current government will not serve past 2027.

This has led to the birth of slogans such as Wantam to mean One term.

They claim the people are not being listened to and they are suffering due to heavy taxation, high cost of living, among other issues.
