Portuguese doctor positive on seminar's outcomes - Chinadaily.com.cn

is a gastroenterologist from the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto in Portugal. He participated in the seventh Belt and Road International Advanced Gastrointestinal Endoscopology Seminar held at Beijing Friendship Hospital in early June.
My time in China was not only a profound medical learning experience, but also an enriching cultural journey.
From the moment I arrived in Beijing, I was struck by the warmth and hospitality of the Chinese people. Their welcoming nature made me feel at home, and I was equally impressed by the vibrant culinary scene. The food was superb, offering a delightful exploration of local flavors that energized me for each day's training.
The seminar was a master class in advanced endoscopy. The competence of the Chinese physicians was outstanding. Their expertise, precision and dedication to their patients were evident in every procedure.
I was particularly impressed by the cutting-edge equipment utilized at Beijing Friendship Hospital, which rivaled the technology I've encountered elsewhere.
This commitment to providing the best tools for both diagnosis and treatment is evidence of the high standards of Chinese medical care.
In this course, I gained invaluable insights into advanced approaches, particularly the use of traction techniques and hemostasis for challenging endoscopic submucosal dissection cases.
These methods, which facilitate better visualization and control during complex resections, represent a significant leap forward in minimally invasive surgery.
Furthermore, I was fascinated by the advanced techniques demonstrated for endoscopic gallstone removal via endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, showcasing the versatility and efficacy of endoscopic interventions.
Besides technical brilliance, I also need to affirm the unwavering dedication of Chinese doctors to their patients. Their commitment to providing compassionate and comprehensive care was palpable, reflecting a profound sense of responsibility and empathy.
This combination of cutting-edge technology with genuine human care is truly commendable.
My experience at the seminar was amazing. It improved my skills and knowledge that I will undoubtedly integrate into my practice. More than that, it offered a window into the remarkable advancements in Chinese medicine and the truly gracious spirit of its people.
I left China with immense gratitude and a profound respect for its medical community, equipment and its welcoming culture.
