Relationship counsellor Chidinma Praise, founder of SPAMHEM Foundation, has announced the cancellation of her engagement and wedding. Praise emphasized a peaceful resolution and requested privacy and prayers from her followers.
Prominent relationship counsellor, Chidinma Praise, founder of the SPAMHEM Foundation, recently announced the cancellation of her engagement and planned wedding. Known for her work in human capacity development, mental health, relationships, and spiritual counselling at churches and religious events, Praise surprised her followers with the news shared on Facebook.
In her initial post, Chidinma Praise wrote: "Dear family and friends, I wish to let everyone know that the wedding I previously announced will no longer be taking place, and the engagement has come to an end. This has been a painful season for me and for our families. I sincerely appreciate everyone who prayed for us, supported us and wished us well. I kindly ask for your continued prayers and privacy as I heal and trust God with my future. Thank you for your understanding. God bless you." This announcement garnered significant attention, with many followers commending her bravery for making such a difficult decision, especially given the proximity of the wedding date.
Following up on her initial statement, Chidinma clarified that the decision to cancel the wedding was a mutual agreement between herself and her supposed husband-to-be, James Abbass. She reiterated her request for continued prayer and privacy for both families during this challenging period. In a subsequent post, she took personal responsibility for "erring in the relationship" to prevent any accusations from being directed towards James. She firmly stated that neither she nor James is a bad person, and they have amicably resolved matters, having talked, prayed, and forgiven each other, moving on peacefully without any drama.
Praise also asserted her right to privacy regarding the specific reasons for the cancellation, stating, "I am not ready to give any details on why or how the wedding cancelled and you can not force me to do that with your messages or comment thank you." She reflected on her spiritual journey through this experience, expressing her trust in God's faithfulness even amidst her own perceived unfaithfulness, and metaphorically spoke of "breaking the edge" and "the serpent bite," affirming that God ultimately prevailed. Her decision to publicly announce the cancellation, she explained, was not out of obligation but because she had previously announced the invitation and found more peace in being transparent.
